Stayed for one night as we were on our way up to Banff for the week, so we broke the journey half way..
Arrived around 8.30pm, asked could we get dinner etc, told that everyone had gone now and we were to late, hubby had to go out and locate a take away, room was cold initially, so we plugged in extra heater provided.. Seemed like we were the only residents, felt very isolated, we had our 2 dogs with us and they were welcomed with no problem..
Had the full breakfast next morning which was excellent, again we sat with our jackets on whilst eating breakfast .. The hosts were absolutley lovely, but overall we felt the hotel was cold and empty..
We payed the bill, which eventually came to £78.00 which I didn't think was all that reasonable.. For one night, breakfast & 2dogs??
Probably wouldn't stay again, a shame really as the setting is beautiful, the hotel felt unloved, got the feeling it was for sale and hosts are just biding their time there..More
