I felt like I stepped back 30 years here. They allow smoking in the bar!!! The poor waitress seemed to have no customers as everyone that came in and realized smoking was allow would leave immediately. Not cool! Honestly, just disgusting. I do not want to eat and inhale smoke.

I doubt Mr. Puck has much regular involvement in the individual restaurants in his namesake chain, but if he did, I have to think he'd be ashamed at the experience I had at this one. First the good. While some of the menu items are certainly a positive move away from standard airport fare, my Chicken Caesar salad was nothing special. It had the same pre-cooked, who knows how long it's been in the refrigerator, standard dressing taste. "But, you said first the good!" you might say. Well, that was the good.

Apparently, they were short staffed during my visit. It was easy enough to pick up on, having worked several years in a restaurant myself. How they handled it, however, was reminiscent of an episode of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. One of the wait staff was intercepting every new customer, explaining to them, "We're way behind today. There will be a long wait. You might want to go somewhere else." I guess, in a way, it was nice of her to warn people of this since time is important in an airport. It was a good ten minutes before she first came to my table. Once she finally got the order in, it didn't take an unreasonable amount of time for the food to come, though granted, there was no cooking involved with what I got. During my wait, I got to listen to a consistent litany of fussing, groaning and complaining from the manager who was obviously in the weeds and not handling it well. At one point I even heard him mention he "might lose it today." Several times I saw orders get mixed up and more than once things had to be remade. Considering the cafe was far less than half full when I got there, it wasn't just the level of business causing the issue.

When my first was ready, the waitress practically flung it on my table. A lone piece of lettuce fell from the plate to the floor as she spun about and was gone before the plate was even still. She didn't stop by again until I was almost done and asked for a check. All this, even though I never complained and waited patiently throughout. After all, I had four hours until my flight.

In any case, it wasn't so much the delay and unremarkable food that killed it for me as it was the way the staff behaved and handled it. Ultimately during my time there, I watched at least three people shrug off the waitress' warnings only to sit for ten or more minutes and then leaving having never been even brought a glass of water.
