We had a fantastic tour here on a Wednesday mid-morning. There were just three of us plus the informative tour guide.

There was a short movie and then we walked across the driveway to beautiful distillery where we saw the fermentation tanks and the large copper still.

What we didn't get to see was the barrel house or bottling, which I guess they do offsite.

At the end, we were able to sample two of their Bourbons.

It's a great tour, and free, but I wish we could have seen the barrels and bottling.

We really enjoyed our tour of the Four Roses Bourbon Distillery. This was our first stop on the Bourbon trail, and I think we may have spoiled ourselves by making this #1. The building is beautiful. We watched a brief video and then actually got to tour INSIDE the distillery, right up to the barrels where the yeast was boiling. We had Heather for our tour guide and she was AWESOME. Very knowledgeable and fun-spirited. They do shut down production during the summer months.... they still offer tours June - September but if you visit during that time you will not actually see the Bourbon being made. Beautiful tasting room, and we even got to buy our sampling glass for just $4.25! Very cool. We went to Wild Turkey distillery after this (only about a 10 min. drive) but we had to pay for that tour. Although smaller than Wild Turkey, Four Roses tours are FREE. Very enjoyable afternoon. I would like to go back and do it again :)

The tour started with a video, that is about the worst of all videos shown on the Trail. The tour guide, was not the easiest to understand so a lot of information was missed or not understood. The Distillery is very nice looking and the product is great.. We just.. kinda got a dud on the tour. Now, this was at the end of the day on Oaks day, so I feel the staff were burnt out a bit as that is one of the busiest days of the year.

The tour of the Four Roses Distillery was our favorite bourbon tour so far. The grounds are beautiful. The tour guide was very informative with history, the process, and keeping it fun. We got there early and were in a small tour group which was great. We got to taste a few at the end which was nice too. Definitely worth a visit!

I would highly recommend adding Four Roses to your Bourbon Tour. The staff is great, the tour actually takes you through production, and they have a great tasting room. Of our party of 8, this was everyone's favorite distillery tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. Bourbon is pretty good as well.

They also took reservations in advance, which was a huge help in planning our day. We flew in from out of town, so it is hard to line up a day of bus tours when most distilleries are first come first serve for tours.
