We were impressed at first sight of the newest brew house and distillery in Kentucky. Beautiful hand stacked stone exterior, without any mortar, greeted us as we turned the corner. Our tour guide, Scott, was extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the brewing, distilling and history of operations at this location. Eveything done at one location without bringing in any elements to add to the process.

The tastings were well guided and all were served in a very professional manner. The products were varied and had great tastes, one to please any palate. The entire experience was pleasant and gave us insight into all steps in the processing of excellent drinking.

I would suggest this location as a stopping point for all those travelers going through Lexington.

We decided to hit the local distillery to continue on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Overall, the visit was fantastic. Our tour guide, Del, was terrific. He often combined knowledge and wit. He had a charm that hasn't been seen from guides at other distilleries. The choice of beer and bourbon samples was a treat. We especially liked the Bluegrass Sundown-as Del says, "If you don't like it, you don't like puppies."

This is the first distillery to be built in Lexington in over 100 years and in 2012 joined the ranks of other famous distilleries to be included on the famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail. As the name implies, Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company is one of the few places that produces both beer and bourbon. After watching a short video, our tour guide, Scott, took us over to the beer brewing site and then into the beer tasting room. After that, we went to the distilling side of the business, saw the fermentation process, and on into the spirits tasting room. The tour was very informative and took just over an hour at a cost of $7 per person. The tour ticket has four tear-off tabs so that you can choose from the five beers and three spirits which ones you want to taste. They have a large visitor center and gift shop where you can purchase all kinds of glassware and clothing. Compared to gift shops at other distilleries on the Bourbon Trail, we felt that most of the items were a bit overpriced. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend taking the tour.

On a tour of all the Bourbon distilleries in the state, we stopped here on a weekday afternoon. Our tour guide was Tom, and he was quite enthusiastic about beer, Bourbon, and the brewery and distillery. It's a very laid back tour. Several people were welcomed to join us well after the tour was underway. No problem.

After a quick movie, we went to the brewery. It's a fairly small operation, but that makes it easy to see everything and understand the process. Tom answered a number of questions from our small group and was clearly very knowledgeable. Afterward we went to the tasting room to sample the beer.

We went into the distillery then, where again Tom described the process and we went to see their two stills. It's a magnificent room, one of the best in the state. We went then for a Bourbon tasting, along with a couple other products they make.

I was impressed by this tour. Tom is a great guide. I was happy to see Bourbon Trail merchandise on prominent display. All the other distilleries we've been to which have been on the Bourbon Trail have either a tiny selection of souvenirs, or none at all that I see.

This tour was interesting as this location is half Brewery, and half Distillery. Our guide was very passionate about the product and the parent company. The location is more of a unique aspect then anything else I found. The beers were well crafted and tasty. The spirits I found a bit lacking depth and I think they have a few more years to work out some kinks to get em right.
