Find the outlets if you can. There are better bournon balls out there, but when these are on sale (1/2 off when we were there), they're a decent deal. Nice selection overall.

Great little store. Had a lot of Kentucky themed chocolates, home made sweets and many unique items. It showcased the heart of Kentucky, the horses, and had many unique chocolate items and fashion items in the store.

I feel I need to write in support of the reviewer who wrote 3 months ago and gave Old Kentucky Chocolates 2 stars. We visited the store today and, after tasting several different chocolates, left without making a purchase. As cristinaandbob said, they looked chalky and tasted old.

You would never know from driving by this strip mall that an entire candy making operation is inside. They sell almost every candy that you can think of and if you can dip it in chocolate and eat it, they have it! The tour is very interesting, watching the molding of the chocolate, the wrapping and labeling, and seeing how much of it is done by hand. We spent about 20 minutes of our tour talking to the owner of the business, who still comes to work each day to manage things. Besides all of the free samples in the store, there are more samples on the tour...fresh, right off the manufacturing line! It was very difficult to choose what to buy, beware! (But the dark chocolate covered potato chips with Himalayan Pink Sea Salt are pretty amazing...)

I was a bit surprised at how generic these chocolates taste. I make chocolate every year for Christmas and that is about the same quality. Also, when we opened the box of assorted truffles we bought, half of them were chalky. Like someone had left them in the freezer or they were really old. We ended up not finishing them. Big disappointment. The only good thing from this place was the cashews.
