We were a group of six and tried a variety of the menu from the hamburger to the cioppino to the pasta. Nothing really stood out as fantastic, which is very unfortunate. Judging from the menu, one would anticipate strong flavors. Unfortunately, our expectations were unmet.

We have loved the Tavern at Wines on Vine since it opened. It's a comfortable, cozy spot. Up until recently this side had a limited menu that wasn't as good as Wines on Vine side. Now both sides share a new menu. Very good offerings with a good variety.
This is our "go to" spot.
Wait staff can be a little slow as they're often chatting with other customers but somehow that even goes with the laid back atmosphere.

And I love local places, but it seemed that they were less than happy to have us there. There was a wine tasting going on that we were not invited to sample, the sommelier was tolerant of me when I asked about a wine to bring into the dining room but not overly helpful. We went there on oyster night, and we are from Savannah and those oysters were so darn good, and not too terribly pricey ($18 dozen). Our server was fine, but you could tell she was used to waiting on people she knew. We did the cheese and meat plate, it was rather pedestrian, and no explanation of what was on the board, we just had to fend for ourselves. I hate to ever give a very local restaurant a less than stellar review, but we weren't treated very well, either purposely or just benign neglect, and that's too bad. The four of us spent $250 (two bottles of wine, salads, appys) so we weren't being cheap, but I guess they weren't invested in nonlocals.

I'm a regular here, and have been for a few years. I like that the same people still work here. That's a mark of great management and quality dining. The food is impeccable and the service is second to none.

Delicious appetizers and wine options. Friendly and knowledgeable atmosphere; we were able to talk ourselves through the different types of wine and what would be best paired with our food! Will go back!
