Lyndon House Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 6 Lexington B&B and Inns

A great little B&B a few blocks away from downtown restaurants and bars. Great clean rooms and included breakfast and parking. Anton is a great host and will do anything to make you comfortable. If you are travelling as a couple this is perfect for you.

Room Tip: Get one with it's own bathroom. I stayed in the Eaves.

Very nice place. Breakfast service was fantastic. Our host Anton was very easy going and informative about local questions. Easy walks to many resteraunts and very short drives to many attractions. Would definitely stay again when in Lexington

Room Tip: Bluegrass suite is roomy and quite

Loved the beautiful rooms...so clean and comfortable. Stuffed with lots of bathroom extras for you to use while you stay- the owner wants you comfortable. Can walk (5 blocks) to good restaurants, very close to Transylvania U. Loved old part of house combined with new common rooms. Elevator takes you to 2nd and 3rd floor- very helpful- if you do not like stairs. Parking is tight in the back alley....and if you have a large size car/van it will take some maneuvering to get in and out. Breakfasts were good, but all the coffee and snacks were not free- paid $1. Also the Eaves room faces main street so you have traffic-trucks and emergency vehicles- noise all day and night. Would recommend the purchase of a sound machine for use for sleeping in that room. Otherwise this was a fine place and we would come back.

Room Tip: Eaves room is noisy facing the main street.

Every fall my wife and I head out for a short vacation that features history and areas we have never visited before. This year we chose Lexington, KY. We always look for interesting B&Bs and certainly found one at the Lyndon House! The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. Anton, the proprietor was a pleasure to talk to and very accommodating. The Lyndon House is perfectly situated for visiting countless many interesting and historic sites such as the Mary Todd home, the Hunt home, Transylvania University, Downtown Lexington, The Ashland Estate, the historic Lexington Cemetery, the Horse Park, etc, etc. We could not see all that we wanted to in five days, so a return trip will be in our future. Our room was very well appointed, comfortable and clean. The elevator is a nice thing to have when hauling luggage up to the second floor. The breakfasts were awesome with lots of choices of excellent food beautifully prepared by Anton. The off-street parking was very convenient. We look forward to returning to the Lyndon House and another visit with Anton!! (Note: I accidentally rated a pool and fitness center...neither exist, but if they did I am sure they would be excellent!!)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Headley Room which was very comfortable and spacious for a couple.

This is a beautifully refurbished house on one of the main roads into Lexington and a short drive into the city centre. It is on the edge of a poorer area so surroundings are not encouraging, but walk through the door and you forget everything outside. The garden is even lovely, with a porch to sit out on in the afternoon/evening to enjoy the peace and a glass or two. Host Anton needed to be summoned from his chores to show us to our room and seemed very quiet and reserved, but don't be put off by that, we may have caught him at a very busy time. However, he was very happy to chat amiably and knowledgeably at breakfast about Lexington and its environs, things to do and places to visit even whilst he is busy preparing and serving his excellent "specials" with all the other normal fare for breakfast (go for the specials, they are really great). The guest house is beautifully done out, clean and comfortable and with several sitting rooms to relax and read or enjoy a coffee in. The room we had (The Belle Brezing room, which looked out over the back garden) was spacious and comfortable, and clean. Drive a few blocks and there are several very good restaurants of all sorts to have dinner in. Ask Anton about the Keeneland Race Course and Kentucky Horse Park (you need to allow a full day to see the latter). We really enjoyed our three day stay here and if we come back to Lexington, this will be the place we will stay!

Room Tip: Every room we peeked into that was not occupied seemed to be as nice as the one we had (The Belle Br...

Close to Transylvania U and minutes to downtown with plenty of off street parking. Big spacious clean well maintained home with comfortable but not overly soft pillow top mattresses. We enjoyed our stay and it proved an excellent base from which to explore Lexington. The horse tour package was excellent value. Breakfasts were delicious and our hosts were helpful and pleasant.

My wife and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary attending a concert in downtown Lexington. We decided to try a Bed & Breakfast experience for the first time. The Lyndon House is very convenient to many downtown "hot spots",restaurants etc.. Most importantly was our experience with the Lyndon House. We stayed in the Bluegrass Suite. The room was well decorated with comfortable furnishings. The room was large and inviting with a private bath. We felt like we were at home. Breakfast was delicious and Anton (inn keeper) was extremely gracious.

We will definitely return soon for a relaxing and cozy get away!
Thanks,
David
