“Nice place but short hours and generally kind of crowded”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

I like Raven Run, I really do, but I seem to always go on days when lots and lots of other people have decided to go too. It's not a big enough park to have so many people there, and the hours are way too short as well (9-4, I think). I also don't think I've ever seen any wildlife. It does offer a great view of the KY river palisades when you get to the end of one of the trails. There are numerous options of which direction to go, some of which will lead you to interesting historical areas. Be prepared for mud and slippery areas.

“Really beautiful place for a hike”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

We went for a run out there and it was quiet and beautiful. Nice views of the river. A little tough to run in places due to the rocks, tree roots, but perfect for a hike.

“Nature the way nature intended”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

Great natural area for hiking, especially if you like primitive trails. Be prepared for all that Mother Nature has to offer including wildlife and poison ivy.

“Trail's to fit a variety of people”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

I have been to Raven Run many times.
Weather will always be an issue here due to the fact that it is a large park that covers a variety of grounds/environments. If it has been raining, you can expect mud. Expect to deal with different types of paths throughout Raven Run.
I particularly enjoy the fact that I can visit Raven Run with a variety of people (who have different levels of "hiking" ability) and we can find trails to fit their comfort level of being in this park.

“Just be prepared for the mud”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

This is a fantastic hike just outside Lexington. Beautiful scenery and some cool historic landmarks. My first trip was a beautiful day in July after many days of constant and heavy rain. This led to the Red trail being very muddy and dangerous in some locations. I actually saw an older woman slip and hurt her knee pretty bad. If you go, which I highly recommend, try and go after several days of dry weather or bring some shoes with good tread for the mud.
