Five of us came on a Saturday night to have dinner. We arrived at 7:15 and had to stand in line for about 20 minutes before we were encouraged to sit at some benches on the side of the dining room. The dining room only has 4 tables in it. Eventually the host let us know that there was an open seat where the band was playing-but it was a $10 cover. None of us wanted to pay $10 to sit in a dimly lit room to watch a band we don't know play music we don't like when we were there to just have a meal before going out for the night so we resumed sitting along the wall bench and not being attended to by the wait staff. Eventually we got a table after finally placing our orders. I had the wings (which are certainly the best I've ever had) and the brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese. The sandwich and fries were top notch, the Mac n cheese was just ok. The food is incredible, but I wasn't a fan of arriving at 7:15, having nowhere to sit except a bench and having to jump on a table while people were leaving then being cramped in. Our food took forever to get to the table to the point we had to remind our waitress that we hadn't been served. We finally got our food at 8:45 and left about 9:30-well over 2 hours from when we arrived. I will never go there for dinner on a weekend again. It'll only be lunch for me or take out from now on. The building is small and I think they really need to decide what they want to be, a small show venue, or a restaurant, because trying to be both with their current space isn't going to fly for people who wanted a meal, not to watch a band play(which by the way you can watch on their tvs and hear over the sound system negating the need for you to pay $10 and sit in a dimly lit room and try to eat). Had I went on a weekday at lunch this would be a 5 star review but this is a classic case of a restaurant trying to be too much. If you aren't interested in the music, there's no way I'd go back on a weekend.
