“Swann's Nest Is Quite Simply The Best”
Reviewed 3 June 2010

My wife and I came from Boston for a wedding in Lexington. We spent the first two nights by pre-arrangement with the wedding party at the Double Tree Inn. Fortunately, we determined to spend our last two at Trip Advisor's number one rated B & B and we're so glad we did! The location is in beautiful horse country yet easily accessible to Lexington and all its attractions. The house, the bedroom, the bathroom, the bed, the furniture--all were ample and tasteful. The water pressure was good; the house quiet at night; the internet service free. Rosalie was so insightful about everything having to do with Kentucky--the people, the society, the horses, the restaurants, the attractions. Perhaps this is because she hails from Oklahoma. In any event, we followed her recommendations blindly and were never disappointed. Amazing and wonderful as was the wedding, Swann's Nest and Rosalie made it just so much better! (And we didn't mind that an extravagant breakfast was not the focus--there's too much good food at lunch and dinner to feel in the least bit deprived!)

This was a lovely welcoming B&B. The rooms are spacious and everything works as you'd expect. Beautiful furnishings and many places to sit and relax and chat or read. We took several long walks through the farms and enjoyed seeing the horses and the rolling fields. Rosalie balances perfectly sharing her warm personality and letting her guests decompress. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to escape a city and enjoy the quintessential Kentucky horse country.

Also note, you are 10 minutes from town and only moments from any necessities.

Swann's Nest is a wonderful B&B in an absolutely perfect location. We had a wonderful stay, and have already booked to come again at the same time next year!

Rosalee is a fabulous host and Swann's nest reflects all that is beautiful about Lexington horse country. You can also set up an excellent tour through local farms.
The stay was a wonderful immersion in to the world of raising and racing thoroughbreds.
We will definately return to Swann's Nest many times again.

The location and house is charming, but is beginning to get a little run-down. Needs some TLC on the outside. The innkeeper is a wonderful, friendly lady and a joy to be around. The only real negative was the breakfast. Some cold fruit, a few stale bread choices, still in thier Kroger Supermarket packaging and some cold bacon put out. Was offered eggs, but had to ask for them to be made. I stay at B&B's often and have always experienced extra special breakfast offerings...after all, that's a big part of the experience. All in all it was enough to cause me to not want to go back, but would not rate it poorly, just a little dissappointing since we went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Rosalie is a terrific host with a great sense of humor and runs a great B&B in her home. When checking in we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was upgraded because it was my birthday weekend. The home is large and set back on a horse farm in a quiet area on the outskirts of Lexington. Continental breakfast with various breads and fruit was fine and when not full one of our two mornings, Rosalie was able to make us a nice breakfast of bacon & eggs.
