Actor's Theatre is a wonderful venue in Louisville. The acting is first rate. One can make a whole evening at Actors by either having dinner in the restaurant in the theatre's basement or dining at one of the many downtown restaurants and then seeing a play at Actors. Each season is different and the Humana Festival is to die for. It's a perfect way to spend an autumn or winter evening.

We did not like this play. It missed the mark with old people playing young peoples rolls. It was dated. The actors over acted. A like 70 year old actor played a pregnant young lady. The actors I am sure had fun it just was not that good. I liked the theatre. The ladies at the ticket window were so friendly. They took the time to get us a map and make recommendations on things to do in city.

I recently saw a show at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville and they really put on a great production. The theatre is small and quaint, but the cast was wonderful!!

We went to Actors to see the Christmas Carol for the past three years and really enjoyed it. There was a young girl by the name of Elise that played the harp all three years and she was truly outstanding. We enjoyed the play, the theatre and Elise playing the harp!

This theatre is a step above the typical "community theatre" concept but not quite the big leagues. Depending on the show, you may be in for a real treat or a real stink. Limited stage space means they have to be real creative with how they move around the room and the audience has to use a considerable amount of imagination (ex: to over look the lack of props and scenery, and the comings and goings as actors run past you).
