During our USA road trip, we have stayed in over 20 places. This was one of the most expensive ones. It was about $80 a night or $184 for 2 nights inc taxes.
The ramada is situated a few miles from the town centre, it took is 10 minutes to drive to the KFC yum centre for a concert we were seeing.
It's situated on the main road so when a lorry drove past, the building shook.
The room was nice. An error (not on our part) meant the hotel had been booked for 4 people (not 2) so it meant there was an extra bed in our room. The decor of the hotel was better than most we had stayed in, bright colours in the hall.
The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Everything you would want from a hotel.
There was complimentary wifi but this was frustratingly poor and slow. It was better at the less expensive hotels. As an international traveller, we rely heavily on having a decent wifi connection to plan our next steps as well as working whilst we are away. This hotel did not provide that.
The disappointment at this hotel came during breakfast. We are not breakfast snobs at all, we'll eat whatever wherever! (It should be noted we are normal sized humans so rarely complain about portions sizes)! But this was just terrible. The bagels were stale, small and cheap, juice was poor and cereal not worth comment. My boyfriend said that that english muffins would be better used as cricket balls as they were so hard. As this was our most expensive stay, we expected better. They were the cheapest products, lacking in taste and anything else. There was something very depressing watching ourselves and other guests struggle to spread the hard cream cheese into the hard, stale tiny bagels with cheap bendy plastic knives. Really disappointed. Sort it out Ramada.
As far as hotels go, this is ok. The staff are friendly and there is a swimming pool (which we didn't use). But value for money? You're probably better saving $30/$40 and staying at a Super 8 and getting an edible breakfast and wifi. I wish we had.
