I spent over 2 hours taking pictures of all the wonderful grave art here. Of course one of the reasons why I came here was for KFC Gen Sanders but I found so much more.
Be warned though, this place is HUGE. You really do need a map of the place. the office is somewhat in the middle of the cemetery. also this place closes early! Like at 445pm

We stopped at the Cemetary as part of our City Taste Tours. This is a beautiful Cemetary with history, beautiful grounds, as well as well known people (Colonel Sanders). The history of the Cemetary and the sections for Northern and Southern soldiers is very touching.

When I lived here, I used to visit Cave Hill a lot; place flowers on a certain grave, enjoy the beauty of Cave Hill, no matter what the season.

So, of course when I returned for a very brief visit, stopping by Cave Hill was a must. It always feels uplifting, not depressing at all.

One of the most beautiful cemeteries I've ever seen.there are a number of tranquility spots on this gently rolling grounds. A couple of lakes, gorgeous landscaping makes it a peaceful retreat during any season. Many fabulous monuments, bring a camera & some bread crumbs to feed the ducks, geese & swans. Oh yeah & pay your respects to the founder of KFC while you're there.

This cemetery tells whole volumes of history. Take your time and wander about the various areas. Wonderful old headstones.
