Decided to go to see where Colonel Sanders was buried. The cemetery was easy to find. Follow the yellow line once inside to find the Colonel. On the way out there are some really beautiful gravestones including magicians Harry Collins. Follow the white line out of the cemetery.

What a surprise. The garden type cemetery is stunning. Many monuments are beautiful works of art. My son wanted to see Colonial Sanders grave but we were all amazed at the other sites.

Very nice cemetery with more than 100 famous people buried here like Colonel Harland Sanders. In addition to his plot there are other must-see spots like the Satterwhite monument, the Tingley fountain and the Confederate soldiers section.

The cemetery has hundreds of beautiful trees, many of which are labeled. A word of caution: his place is very big so definitely get a map as you enter or print out one from the website in advance.

Overall a beautiful, historic and free spot to spend an hour or two.

Colonel Sanders is laid to rest here. It is a beautiful cemetery. The address when you put into the GPS takes you to the little side entrance. Don't go in there! it is for maintenance personnel. Go around the block and the main entrance is there. Follow the yellow on the road and it will take you right to the grave site of the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken

I believe the cemetery opened in 1848. Very picturesque and of course free. It's the burial place of Colonel Sanders if you are interested. Tip: they do have guided tours from time to time. Historical Civil War Tours are offered by a local historian in the fall and spring. Great place for photo shoots. Near the Highlands restaurant corridor and local shopping is a plus.
