We have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years. We have liked it for the most part. We did encounter one challenge last time that makes us question if we will choose it again quickly. On the plus side this hotel has a GREAT location. You have multiple restaurants within walking distance of you and you are just down the street from the Fair Grounds/Expo Center/Freedom Hall Arena. The walk from the hotel to Freedom Hall is about 20 minutes which isn't bad at all if the weather is nice. You get to stroll right past the gates where you would have been charged for parking.
The decor of this hotel is not bad for the price. The breakfast area is nice. The hallways are outdated and the rooms are so, so. Some people overreact when a hotel is a little dated or dingy. My overall perception was that my room was clean and smelled fine. My biggest complaint was the mattress. It was rock hard. I don't mean "hard" like it was a good firm mattress. I mean it was HARD like it hurt your ribs and you could feel the springs. Sometimes it just takes one bad thing to lower your opinion and if the mattress had been better I probably would call this a very very good hotel for the price range it is in. Breakfast is ALL carbs no protein. Staff is VERY friendly. Overall GREAT location, decent decor, dated but clean, HARD mattress.
Very reasonable place to stay near the Expo center and the front desk staff is very friendly and efficient, especially enjoyed working with Amanda.
this was a very good value. Especially relative to the cost of down town. The Super8 met my needs at a considerable savings prior to the start of my meetings. if I had a rental car and was taking a family trip, this would have been just fine. but it was not capable of meeting my down town business needs due to my long business days.
