Great place! Stayed here in Oct for conference at Freedom Hall. In walking distance & near restaurants. Sports Bar, Cracker Barrel, Arby's. Clean, with friendly help. Only negative was it was a smoking room and it definitely smelled like smoke. Good breakfast, put out early. The hotel was supposed to be sold out, but we booked late and booked online with Hotel Guides. It was for less money than advertised, and they honored it with no problem. Definitely recommend this hotel and we will stay again. Wireless internet available only in lobby at this point, but data ports in rooms were fine. We only needed the basics and we got that in a good, comfortable and affordable style.

We stayed here on a small getaway to Louisville, KY. Right near the stadium, good food at the Cardinal Restaurant (across the street) and across from Six Flags, Kentucky Kingdom. Stay in the room with the hot tub.. very roomy and nice!!! Will stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!

Pretty ok. very functional. clean, spacious rooms, excellent location if you like to attend the game.

I have experienced much better Super 8 locations, this one is on the low-end.

The front desk is helpful, not rude as some other members posted. But the resources seem very limited. They were out of pillows. Only three pillows on the queen bed. Thread bare towels. No extra towels in the room, just the minimum required for two people.

The wireless does not work properly depending on where your room is. And the front desk does not have enough CAT5 cables to give you one. But they did arrange one for me shortly after I asked.

The breakfast is very limited. The house keeping staff seem to have the breakfast with the guests everyday. I think they might be living in the hotel itself.

Overall, very basic and I would not go back there unless I was planning on going to the game. The park is right next to the hotel. The Six flags was also across the street but now that is no longer open

It is on a busy street and especially if there is a game, you can get stuck trying to get to the hotel. We got stuck for 1hr+ trying to get to the hotel but that was right before the game started.

Having said that, if you do not plan on spending too much time in the room, the value is great and the rooms are clean. Good channels on the cable, bed is comfortable.

...stay for only one night, it's fine. We needed to stop on our way home to Wisconsin from Atlanta over Memorial Day Weekend, and this was what we could find for a relatively affordable price. The $68 charge was a little much for what we got.

I'll start with the positives. It's in a good location. We were able to easily walk to Churchill Downs to have a look around. It's also near Cardinal Stadium, Six Flags, and the fairgrounds. The restaurant across the street, the Cardinal Hall of Fame, was actually really good and affordable. The bedding in the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. We could walk on the carpeting without getting our socks dirty (this should be a no-brainer, but sadly, we've had that experience with Days Inn in the past).

The hotel needs some work. The front door squeaks obnoxiously when it opens and closes. The room itself was really worn. It's quite obvious that the room used to be a double queen that they've changed into a king. However, they just tore out the old queen beds and tossed in the king. There is a huge empty space that would better be used to enlarge the tiny bathroom or adding a table or dresser. The holes in the walls from the previous queen headboards should at least be filled. There also was no information in the room giving area attractions, restaurants, or anything at all. The plastic holder that was to contain that information was empty.

Breakfast was mediocre at best. The fruit was obviously a few days old. Even though it was a holiday weekend, they had one gallon of milk available, which ran out quickly. Otherwise, there was a waffle maker, cereal, and toast. The butter-substitue available was an oily margerine that wasn't in sealed packets; it was between pieces of waxed paper and were stuck together in a bin.

The service was civil at best. Upon arrival, the clerk was pretty short with us. Upon checkout, with a different clerk, we got about the same treatment. We may have been spoiled by the sincerity and kindness we had at the other hotels during our stay, but I don't think that we ask for a lot.

For our purposes of only needing to stay over one night, it was fine. I believe it was a little overpriced, considering the condition of the hotel and the lack of services. However, one could do a LOT worse.
