This place may look nice from the outside, but after the sun goes down . . . watch your back.
Do NOT leave anything in the room when you leave it. Steer clear. . . When a strange toothless woman knocks on your door asking for a date . . . You will know you should have read these reviews.

When you go to a Motel 6, you don't have high expectations, but this one was just ridiculous...
I went to Louisville with some friends for memorial day weekend. Upon arrival, there were hookers, yes hookers, soliciting outside in the parking lot! The place is also under construction at the moment so there were big rolls of carpet blocking the main entrance, with the foreign construction workers sitting on them, making cat calls at us. What a great first impression of the place, huh? We quickly made it inside only to find more questionable characters and an attendant behind bulletproof glass who definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. We pressed the sticky elevator button, and when the door opened we were greeted by a sketchy man and his barking pit bull.
We got to our floor, the hall way smelled awful! Like, old cigarettes and urine. Our room didn't smell much better..and didn't appear to have been cleaned at all. There was a washcloth hanging from the shower head that wasn't ours. And there was hair all over the bathroom floor. The toilet also leaked. The worst part of the room was the bed sheets, they were blood stained and had cigarette burn holes all over them. The microwave even had old food in it..gross.
The neighborhood of this location is VERY questionable...I am actually pretty surprised we didn't get mugged.

Room Tip: Just don't get a room here, period.

We reserved rooms online to stay during the Mid-American Trucking Show. Once arriving I wish we had other options to stay. This facility looks nothing like the pictures they use online!! The STENCH of this facility hits you in the face!! It was musty and just hard to describe. The door lock on one of the rooms was completely broken off. Yes, we were scared in this neighborhood!! The rooms were suppose to be non smoking rooms. We found piles of cigarette ashes on the end stand. The bathrooms were very moldy. Just overall needing updated and cleaner. Definitely needs to be reviewed by the health department and Motel 6 Corporation. This is the dirtiest Motel 6 locations I've ever stayed at.

Room Tip: read reviews first hand. Sure wish I would have!

My brother stayed here one night. Initially, he was excited b/c it was right off the freeway and easy to find. That's where the positive review ends. The room smelled of mold and mildew. He actually didn't know how to describe the smell b/c it was that awful. The A/C was rusted but it did work. The bathroom did not flush. It was noisy and loud. He actually didn't sleep b/c he felt he had to continously check on his vehicle in the parking lot. He might have been better off just sleeping in his car.

He has no problem staying in motels but this was the worst one he's ever stayed in.

We stopped by this Motel 6 to take a rest during our road trip. We didn't have high expectations, but....

First of all, there was a police car stationed in the parking lot and a bullet-proof window separating the guests and the check-in lady. And when we walked in, we noticed that the lobby smelled like pungent sweat + rotten eggs and that everyone we bumped into looked highly questionable (to put it mildly). We should've left right away, but because we were so tired, we checked in anyway, hoping that the rooms would be somewhat decent.

Wrong again. The room smelled horrendous. The sheets were not washed. We really couldn't imagine touching anything in the room, let around sleep there for the night.

So we decided to check out right away and asked for a refund. Fortunately, the check-in lady was nice enough to give us a refund without arguing.

We ended up sleeping in our car in a rest stop instead.. which was soooooooooooooooo much better than the hole that is Motel 6 Louisville.

Rest-Stop (Shelbyville I think) - 5 stars
Motel 6 Louisville - negative 5 stars.

Room Tip: Stay away from this place

I live on the road as part of my job and frequently stay with Motel 6 because of the price and convenience the chain offers. I had never had a problem with Motel 6 until I visited this hotel. Upon entering, there was an overwhelmingly foul smell. The elevator was extremely grimy and the floor was stained with some sort of sticky liquid. The second floor smelled even worse than the lobby. My room was absolutely foul. There was strange dirt along the baseboard of the entire room as well as dark stains and cigarette burns all over the carpet. There was a mysterious brown stain on the ceiling above the mirror. The smoke detector had been pulled from the wall and left hanging by it's wires and I would be surprised if it still functioned. I found two bloody used band-aids by the bed side table. Upon entering the bathroom I discovered dried blood on the shower curtain.

The only good thing to be said for his disgusting pit of a motel is that the staff was accommodating when I demanded a refund. Don't bother taking the risk - this place is as awful as all these reviews say.

Had reservation for 5 nights. Arrived and checked in about 3pm on a Friday. We knew we were in trouble as soon as we walked towards the front door when we encountered a couple of hookers. Front desk clerk obviously hated her job. Bulletproof glass between her and us. Elevator was not a good ride 4 floors up, floor very sticky and dirty. Room was atrocious. Cigarette burns everywhere, questionable stains everywhere, faucets not working properly, it was a "suite" that was sparsley furnished. Just too many bad things to want to stay there another moment. Got on my laptop, found a nicer hotel a little farther away for a little more money and got the hell out of this place. Upon check-out, a different clerk helped us and was very apologetic for the sorry conditions of this property. I do NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE unless you are a drug dealer, hooker or just don't care where you sleep. Total time we spent here: One hour. Terrible place.
