We always try to fit Bristol Bar and Grille into our trips through Louisville.
The Black Bean soup is to die for.

“Great Family Restaurant”
Reviewed 11 June 2013

Louisville has been blessed with the Bristol, which now has several locations in the Metro area. Everything tastes great. It is open for lunch and dinner or late night snacks.

“Excellent Brunch”
Reviewed 9 June 2013

FORGET THIS PLACE...unless you want a weekend brunch with excellent selection, quality food, and a pleasant atmosphere. The tight seating actually adds to the experience. Instead of creating friction, it actually creates community and stimulates conversation. Al Fresco is an alternative, but we passed. Service, or lack of, is typical of a brunch setting. No complaints. The food is actually better than I recalled from several previous visits, but the discontinuation of live music, especially the stringed quartet and jazz ensemble, is a crying shame. The phrase "conspicuous by their absence" comes to mind. That was the Bristol's edge over other choices, and they have surrendered. Then again, try to find a place that offers full selection, an omelet station, a waffle station, and live music for under $20 in any city.

“Always a good meal”
Reviewed 25 May 2013

Varied menu, entrees include bread and salad, so a good value. Food is good, have tried shrimp and grits, pork dijonaise, several other dishes. They are Louisville Original so be sure to get your points.

“A Pedestrian Lunch”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

My wife and I have eaten at Bristol before for dinner and enjoyed our visits to the Bardstown location. We recently stopped to have lunch the day before the Derby on our way to Cincy for the weekend. We sat outside and I ordered the club sandwich. I really expected something more from Bristol Bar and Grill...but the sandwich was very average. Our server unfortunately had little personality and it just made for a disappointing visit here for lunch.

Perhaps we need to check out some newer offerings along Bardstown Rd area? We really miss Avalon closing down across the street from Bristol's.
