Missing Hill Resort

I would recommend this place mostly for one reason, price. If you are looking for fancy, this place is not for you. The cabins are basic small older cabins. But they have what you need. They offer full kitchens, bathroom with shower, cable tv in living room, and wi-fi (it's pretty spotty, kept going off and on). They offer a washer/dryer room for use. They work, but not well. Washer leaked water everywhere and dryer never did fully dry clothes. So all and all, Pros: Affordable Vacationing prices range from $55-$150 a night and stay 6 nights and night 7 is free, Perfect for fisherman. Has a small marina and boat launch. Property is on the lake, Has a beach and swimming platform, nice to have a cabin to yourself instead of a hotel room, they allow pets. Cons: They don't take credit cards, No restaurants in the area. Place could use a refresh, mainly in laundry and cleaning up the landscape. I would recommend this place. It's worth the money and has a beautiful lake view. If you stay here I would take the 20 minute drive to Dodds Country Store in Buchanan, Tn. Excellent little restaurant. If you stay here, ask the owners for directions. Map-quest takes you on Dirt roads, which was unnecessary & GPS took us at least an hour out of the way (Coming From Ohio) through Tennessee. You should go through Murray Ky from Ohio, not any part of Tennessee.

we first stayed at the resort in 2009 for a week, The personnel here are so helpful and courteous, Chris and Janelle are great hosts, We have been coming back here for the last four years,
The cabins are well stocked and very clean. I highly recommend this resort. The boat launch is easy access. and the fishing is awesome... Hope you at least give them a try.. you will not be disappointed...

We spent three days there in September. The cabin was clean and contained all the essentials including wifi and cable t.v. It was a basic cabin, but a woman's touch was evident with area rugs and lace curtains. A laundry area was available. Cell phone reception was spotty and we sometimes had to go out on the porch to get a signal, but that was not a big deal. Everyone we met (the owners, other guests, residents) were very friendly. I don't think we passed anyone who did not wave or speak. This resort is definately off the beaten path. The resort web site says not to go by your GPS if it takes you on a certain road. My GPS did not use that road, but still took me on narrow back roads. After we figured out how to stay on the main roads, travel was more pleasant. So look at a map or check with the owners for directions. Also be aware that they do not accept credit or debit cards so be prepared to pay by cash or check. The only down side to our stay was that there were no restaurants in the immediate area. There is a restaurant at a nearby resort but after labor day it is only open on weekends and we were there during the week. Murray, KY and Paris, TN are 20 - 30 minutes away and both have good restaurants. Paris Landing State Park had an excellent breakfast buffet. So there are a lot of dining options, just be aware that you will have a commute. There was a plus to being so far from the cities and that was the stars. We had two clear nights and the stars were amazing. I had forgotten that there were so many stars above us. Another plus was that they are pet friendly with a reasonable $10 a day fee. If you stay in this area be sure to visit Fort Donelson Civil War Battlefied. It was a high point in our vacation. If we are visiting this area again, we will consider returning here.

We stayed at Missing Hill Resort from Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22. We fell in love! We loved our cozy little cabin. The cabin was clean, well supplied with anything you would need in the kitchen (minus the food HA), the bathroom, cable with more than just the 10ish basic channels, extra bedding so you can lay under a blanket with a chill from a sunburn, ice and bait at the marina...it was all great! A husband and wife own and run the place. We never met the wife face-to-face but I spoke with her on the phone quite a few times. She was very nice and very helpful. We did meet the husband quite a few times and he couldn't have been more pleasant and more accommodating. He went out of his way to make sure our trip was wonderful!

If you're looking for a fancy place, 5 star upscale, spotless resort...pass. But if you're looking for the perfect nook in the woods, that's right on the river with accommodations that are perfect for a family trip...this is your place. We'll go back every single time!
