Fantastic meal. Fresh, tasty, and cheap!
Portions are absolutely huge!!!!! It's a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip.
Great service, great food, great prices....what else could you ask for?

“Huge Portions!!! - and some people eat more???”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

We live a long way away, but occasionally to get the best catfish within 60 miles, it's worth the road trip. Harper's may have the hole in the wall look- old, but something's that been there a while- for good reason. Inside it's clean and functionable- nothing fancy. The customers there are local or in the know and are there for some great food. The catfish portions and french fries are huge. Two types of slaw- vinegar or cream are each flavorful. The service is down home. They don't hover but will help attentively with anything you need. There are no flashing signs- actually it's easy to pass if you aren't driving slowly and watching- but it's well worth doubling back a couple of times to have the best catfish in the area. That the price is super reasonable is an added delight.
It you need to call for directions to 3085 Old Gallatin Road, the phone is 270-622-7557. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday open 7 am to 9 pm. Friday and Saturday open 7 am to 10 pm. Sunday open 7 am to 8 pm.

“BEST Catfish!!!”
Reviewed 3 May 2013 via mobile

The other reviewers are correct. This place does come across as a hole in the wall. However is absolutely a wonderful value and has the best catfish. Well worth a day trip to go eat here.

“A little off the beaten path, but well worth it.”
Reviewed 25 November 2012

Not much to look at, and a little difficult to find, but I can honestly say they have the best catfish I've ever had. If you want true Kentucky cooking and culture, stop by this little restaurant. The catfish, frog legs, and slaw are really yummy and the portions are huge. As I was chatting with the gentleman (who I think was the owner) about traveling from Wyoming and stopping based on recommendations, he got up from his chair, went into the kitchen and brought us a plate of catfish to try. I will make this little place a regular stop on my way from Nashville to Glasgow, Kentucky.
