Traveled here with the Green Bay women's basketball team for the First Round of the 2013 women's NCAA Tournament at LSU. We made the reservations for our team and staff two weeks in advance so it's not like we surprised them with our arrival.

Upon arrival, we were told only 10 of our 40+ rooms were ready and had been cleaned (we got there around 5 p.m....). So for the rest of us that weren't in that lucky group, that meant standing around waiting in the lobby with all of our bags. The worst part of all of this? The woman who was the manager on duty at the time kept avoiding us and hid in the back whenever we wanted to talk to her. Totally unprofessional and a slap in the face.

Eventually a different employee assured us we could all have free wi-fi for our troubles. It didn't give us the two hours of our lives back, but it was something I guess.

The room was pretty nice with a comfortable bed, but the walls were pretty much paper thin so I heard everything that was going on in the hallway.

Don't waste your time with the bar/restaurant next to the lobby. A few of my coworkers and I went there and waited 10 minutes for the bartender (the bar isn't very long so we weren't sure what the deal was), and after our first round we waited another 10 minutes before simply leaving.

Seems like this place has the potential to be a great place, but it needs a significant upgrade to its staff and service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors have a pretty awesome view -- not a whole lot to look at, but it was better than the lower floors!

An overnight stay for a conference. Our 16th floor room was very nice. Clean and recently renovated with upgraded bath. The carpet was clean and not worn. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. The AC worked quite well for us. We found the staff to be very friendly and eager to please. The traffic noise mentioned elsewhere was not an issue for us.
Overall, an excellent stay.

Check-in was a friendly experience. We were upgraded to a suite which was very comfortable. This Marriott is an older property but very clean with nice staff. The bar was a nice atmosphere for a quick meet up and snack. The ac in the room to work better but overall great stay.

This is an older building that has been upgraded. My room was on the 17th floor and it was clean and well appointed. I was very comfortable. On the down side, the air conditioner was just capable but not much more. The hotel is right next to the highway and you can hear the traffic when you are in your room. It is also very noisy outside. However, it did not impact my sleep. The staff is very friendly. I was treated particularly well by the morning servers in the restaurant. The best aspect of this hotel is it's location.

Room Tip: highest floor

The first room they gave me smelled horrible-chemically.
The next room also smelled but it wasn't overpowering.
I have been traveling 3 nights a week or for 20+ years. Marriotts have gone DOWNHILL.
This one was no different. They have had financial problems and haven't been maintaining properties. Too bad, I was platinum member for years but am giving up on them.
