This is a fine hotel. Good food. Friendly staff. Jack at the front desk was helpful, Chad was welcoming and Jordan in the bar was very friendly. Food was good.
However I didn't feel very safe having my family with me here. The night we stayed here I overheard another guest complaining to the front desk that his car had been broken into. At night Baton Rouge can be a somewhat seedy place and I noticed that every outside door was unlocked and didn't require guest key access. Even the shabbier hotels nowadays require you to use your room key to enter outside doors after dark. I did notice that they had one security guard on at night but it seemed like he would be of little use guarding the entire hotel with all of the doors unlocked. With this hotel being so close to interstate 10 in Baton Rouge it would do them good to beef up security.More
