“Great Biscuits! Poor Service.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2012

Location was difficult to maneuver off of the highway and at 10pm after driving across 3 states, ease is very important. The area felt unsafe, almost blocked in with marginal lighting in the parkinglot. We found a front row parking spot but it was instinct and gut reaction told us to completely empty our car of any contents (even from the trunk) as we may come out in the morning to smashed windows if we did not. Just felt scary. Check in seemed OK - we were 'numbers' arriving. Nothing special. Our room was OK as we only required a bathroom for showers and toilet and a bed. We slept fairly soundly from exhaustion. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic. The cooks sure can cook!!! Pancakes and biscuits were delicious. Coffee was good. Check out was complicated. The woman at the front desk could not understand that we had already paid for our hotel in full.
It became complicated and somewhat like a surgeon trying to describe to a grocery store check out person how to perform an intricate procedure. We called the main hotel to make sure they didn't double bill us. After extra work on our part due to lack of training on theirs, it was resolved. Since that was our only real interaction with hotel personnel, the service experience was poor. Overall, it was a vanilla experience. Those biscuits certainly balanced out the rudeness.

Room Tip: If you reserve your room online through another site other than La Quinta (moreover, if you pay for...

I moved here from the Double Tree next door. I love it here. Complimentary coffee 24/7, great complimentary breakfasts, nice big rooms, great baths. Rooms are better than halls, but I don't need halls. TV, wifi, everything is impeccable. Very good deal. I visit BR often and will always stay here.

Room Tip: All good as far as I can tell.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last weekend because it was cheap and we were only going to be able to sleep for 5 hours, so we thought it would be a good idea to stay here instead of the Hilton next door... BAD idea.
It looked like they hadn't cleaned the carpet in years, there was mold in the bathtub AND they TRIPLE charged us!!!

I would recommend spending the $20 extra and staying at the better hotel next door.

I stayed at this hotel for five nights over a two weekend trip to see LSU football. About as close as you can get to campus and in line price wise. Clean and quiet. Great staff, especially Mrs.Sura, the general manager. She made me feel at home. Will be back.

My wife and i spent 3days here, the staff was the best iv'e encountered on our trip(El Paso-Ga and back)..The rooms were clean, quiet, had everything we needed. We changed rooms after the 2nd day. It went smooth and hassle free. AS a special bonus we met the most amazing group of musicians, they were members of George Clinton's group, they were preformong here in town. They were varied in age from young to older, but ,they, and myself(59yr.old,retired Marine) loved the music from a great musician and a style that never gets old..this isn't a music review... just saying we had a great time...stay here when u are passing..you never know whom u might meet

Room Tip: call ahead..or just walk in..you won't be dissappointed

The staff are very helpful, and the room was very clean. It was a very nice quiet stay, no loud banging or hearing slamming of doors. Housekeeping was very attentive and provided us with any extras ie, towels, coffee. The rates are very fair. Will stay again.

We wanted an expensive hotel to stay in one night in Baton Rouge....that is what we got. The carpets are in serious need of cleaning as is the rest of the hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was that it had an above average continental breakfast that included hot items (waffels, warmed up egg patties, frozen sausage). There is a Holiday inn, a Hampton and a Marriott in the immediate area that I wished I had looked into. But, if your not too picky this hotel may be fine for you. My family won't be staying again.
