Owner description: The Red River is the picturesque setting for Bossier City's unique shopping and entertainment destination, Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Across the Red River from downtown Shreveport, the project's first phase opened in November, 2003, with the state's first Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. The remainder of Boardwalk opened in May 2005 and joined a vibrant casino district nestled along the majestic riverfront for nearly a half-mile. Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets is the first lifestyle center to open in the state of Louisiana offering outlet shopping, an entertainment district and riverfront dining.

I wandered around here for a few hours before I could check in at the hotel next to the Boardwalk. There are plenty of stores and restaurants, however its mostly chain restaurants and the usual stores you see at the mall. The place is nicely maintained and I saw a few custodians cleaning up and keeping the place looking great. They have a movie theater there as well. The boardwalk also has a nice river walk as well.

There are some nice stores here, but, mostly, I love the restaurants. The place is kept up and has a nice view of the Red River and the Shreveport skyline.

There was so much to do that the trolley was nice. It was free and kept the kids entertained. Some stores were pricey but that wasn't the case for all the stores. My Nephews made the bass pro shop a must stop, and there was the chocolate crocodile where we were introduced to the chocolate frog. Yum, yum!!! We stopped to see real alligators. I think this was something everybody enjoyed. It is really hot in the after noon when we first wen't so we went later in the day hoping to find it cooler, no such luck. But truly it was a wonderful experience.

We had a great time, shopping, eating, walking around, admiring the activity on the river. The weather was great the day we went. There are lots of shops. Just one thing is missing.......and that would be a souvenir shop. I couldn't find any souvenirs in any of the shops.

First time visit today. Really enjoyed the stores, especially Bass Pro Shop and Farmer's Almanac. Could use more variety and some sort of "cooling" areas. It was super hot! The area was really clean, parking was easy, and everyone was friendly. Don't miss it but go when it's cooler.
