Terry has thought of everything in her 1800s restored log cabin. We have stayed in so many vacation rentals that are simply grimy, so I always arrive a bit skeptical. No problem here - could almost "eat off the floor" as my mother would say when describing cleanliness. The setting is across the street from Terry's home next to the water, but we have wonderful access to the lake in her back yard without feeling intrusive. The kitchen is completely stocked and even includes spices, dish soap, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, trash bags - things you don't normally find in a rental. Same in the rest of the house - bathroom is completely stocked. What a treat even though we've learned to travel with our own things. Bed is wonderfully comfortable - another extra-special plus. Windows open readily to let in fresh air. Just a nice, nice home. And Terry is delightful to work with; we arrived to find a loaf of homemade banana bread, bottled water, and a welcoming note!
One word of warning - if you need internet or reliable phone service, Door County is NOT like the cities most of us come from. Nearby coffee shops have Wi-Fi, and we finally figured out how to use roaming services from CellCom and our Personal Hot Spot on our phones to get the internet working.
