I spent 4 nights there with my wife and our 10 year-old son. We stayed in the two rooms in the main building, not the apartment. The owners, Liz and Gerri, are very nice. There was a local family staying in the apartment above the garage. Everyone was so nice to us and made us feel right at home. The other guests cooked each night and invited us to join them. Best cajun food we had on the trip. Liz and Gerri took us out on their pontoon boat fishing on the nearby Henderson Swamp. The facility itself is clean and modern. They have a big "great room" but we spent most of the time outside. There is a large deck overlooking the bayou and we spent time out there. My son really liked the pool and the hot tub. We did several fun things in the area including paddling on Lake Martin (really swampy), eating Cajun breakfast and dancing to live Zydeco, Lafayette Zoo. I wanted to get a real Cajun experience and this was it. Couldn't have been better.
My stay at The Lodge was fabulous. The innkeepers Liz and Gerri were most accommodating. The Lodge itself is very clean and well kept. Very relaxing and quiet, waking up to the sounds of nature and not sirens and cars zooming by was A-1. My friend and I were taken on a short boat ride on their little party barge (pontoon boat) up the canal and out to the bayou.. I highly recommend this place for a getaway.
