We visited the Cajun Country Cottages this past week and we were sad to leave! This is the kind of place where you can get your fix of fishing, boating, canoeing, and relaxation all in one place, which is convenient and nice. Get away from the hustle and bustle and still have the comforts of home like wi-fi, TV, and comfortable, clean cottages.

The breakfasts were great, the owner Chris was so welcoming and helpful. We had the kids with us (16, 14, and 11) and they were so welcoming to them. We assured him they would behave and not cause noise or bother others, and they did just fine. They loved the boats and canoe and had all the privacy and access to the small lake they wanted.

We stayed in the Evangeline and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much for making our trip and your cabins our new "home away from home." I cannot wait to return and you've helped our family make great memories.

Room Tip: Evangeline had great beds and lots of room to move around and relax. Great sized kitchen!

We spent a much needed relaxing weekend at the Cajun Country Cottages. We live in Houston, and once a year I spend a very stressful week in NO working with a customer. I am always looking for a "reward" weekend at the end! I chose this location because it is half way back to Houston...sort of. The property is lovely! We stayed in the Play House and it was just perfect for the two of us. My husband is a news junkie and has to have his morning fix....they have a small TV on Dish so he survived! Breakfast is delivered in a cute little basket and was ample and fresh. The furnishings are comfortable, and the bed and pillows were great...fresh anbd clean. The lake is a great asset...make a cast...you'll catch bass or perch and maybe others too. Venture into Breaux Bridge for lunch and shops...dinner in Lafayette...tons of choices! We really enjoyed this little get away and will return next year.

My wife and I just returned from our vacation on the Bayou. We stayed in "The Schoolhouse" as recommended by a colleague. We were not disappointed, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Our experience from booking to checking in the key was excellent. The breakfast baskets were delicious! We arrived during the hottest part of the season, but the air conditioning stayed strong and provided us with relief day and night. We did a bit of sight-seeing and enjoyed several restaurants in the area, but we stayed in the quiet reserve of our Cajun Country Cottage much of the time. My wife especially enjoyed fishing each evening. It feels like you are hours away from civilization at the cottage, but in reality you are just minutes away from all of the festivities in Breaux Bridge. We will most certainly stay here again and will recommend anyone to stay in this peace of Bayou paradise!

We spent our days on the lake and caught many fish and namely "catfish". This was an amazing experience and we can't wait to come back with our girls! Today is our last day here and will be leaving in the morning, I will miss the peaceful and beauty of this piece of "Gods Paradise". Thank you Stephanie and Chris! Karrie was so wonderful, breakfast promptly at 8:30 and her hospitality was AWSOME.

Room Tip: If you are here to fish you may enjoy the "Evangeline" cottage. Has a very nice and wide...

Sis and I stayed in the Magenta for 6 days in June. The cottage was perfect and included everything anyone would need. The lake is beautiful and the surroundings are so peaceful we completely forgot about the outside world. Kallie brought us breakfast every morning in a red basket which was filled with eggs, sausage, biscuits, French toast, juice and fruit. So good! We did take the canoe out a few times and had a great time! There is a black and brown medium sized dog, german sheppard mix I think, with floppy ears that came by to visit every morning and afternoon. She took naps on our deck and of course she shared our eggs with us. Her name is Jade, very friendly, so if you are visited by her, please befriend her, all she wants is to visit. Don't let those sad puppy dog eyes fool you, she lives in a beautiful big house across the road, the one with the large pond in front. I miss her! Kallie was so sweet and kind to us during our stay, she even recommended a cottage for my husband to stay in when he vacations in October. Thank you Kallie for all your hard work and everything you do. We took the Cajun Country Swamp Tour and was fascinated with the swamp and bayou. Martin Lake is like none other I've ever seen. Very informative tour. So glad we decided to stay at Cajun Country Cottages, just can't say enough about the location, the cottage, the lake, and of course Kallie.....oh, and Jade too :)

Room Tip: There are 5 cottages, all private from one another. Two cottages have two bedrooms. Just go to the...
