We just spent a fabulous week at this amazing holiday park. The facilities were just great - very modern and clean. The shower pressure was awesome! Our campsite was amazing - room enough for large tent and a small tent, boat and vehicle with plenty of room for visitors. The staff were very helpful and the shop was great. The playground, bouncy pillow and go carts are a fantastic addition for families. The Fish & Chips and Real Fruit Ice Creams were an awesome holiday bonus. A beautiful area with lots of fun activities for everyone. Will definitely be going back.

The highlight of our job here is reading positive feedback from customers who had a memorable holiday here at hot water beach. We are so thrilled that you found your stay enjoyable, even over the very busy peak time of summer on the coromandel. We certainly hope to see you here again during the year or next summer.

This is a favourite of ours, having stayed here multiple times now, and I have to admit, it is always a good experience.

However, be warned that prices shoot through the roof in the height of Summer, and $60+ for an unpowered site is a bit rich.

Can't fault the place though, generous sites, lots of choices including self contained cottages, and plenty of amenities to please all campers.

We had a motorhome this time, and were self contained, but there is a seperate kitchen, free hot water for the showers (lasts about a minute at a time), good communal kitchen, and a shop, but if you have a cell phone, or need wifi, then cross your fingers for a signal.

Overall very good, but could be better value and certainly a stronger wifi signal would fix all our concerns. We will be back again...

Room Tip: Stay in the paddocks, much quieter and less lights to keep you awake at night...

Thank you for placing feedback on our page. It is certainly a more expensive time to stay on the coromandel over summer but we are pleased you found the park an enjoyable place to visit. We hope to see you here again next summer

We paid $70 a night to stay on a powered camp-site expecting fantastic Facilities. Kitchen was way to small for the amount of people there while were there and only about 1/2 of the camp-sites were occupied We used the family showers since there were 3 of us. I'm not sure how 3 people are meant to shower in 5 mins. The staff at the counter were very friendly however the friendliness ended there from the staff. Rather than telling us off for various things that we had NO idea about you could improve the signage. If you're after a family friendly atmosphere this isn't a park to visit. It seemed more geared to tourists visiting the hot pools.

Other reviews comment on the price but the owners justify by saying it's what other parks charge. We went to another park with identical facilities at the same time of year 2 hrs from Auckland(and we had a ocean view) but it only cost us $36 rather than the $70 a night here.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay here with us at Hotwater Beach. Its a shame that you did not take the time to read your park map which clearly shows a 2nd ablution block at the other of the park and another kitchen in the park for our guests use. The park map also showed you the 16 showers available for our guests in the main facility block. Our staff do spend considerable time with each customer explaining our facilities, and there is signage on each block showing the showers or toilets for our customers information.

The park indeed is a very popular place over peak time for both our domestic and international markets and our team work very hard here to ensure all our customers enjoy their stay. We run a childrens program over summer, and provide several other tour booking services for our customers.

The two of us stayed in cabins here over 4 nights - the first night in a Deluxe Cabin, the subsequent nights in a Standard Cabin. Definitely go for the Deluxe if you can - slightly more solid and a bit roomier and more pleasantly situated than the Standard (which might move around a tiny bit as it is on wheels). Rooms were clean, very sparse, but we really didn't need anything other than the fridge.
You aren't looking for luxury if you're staying at a camp ground, so don't expect it; but everything was functional and suited our needs perfectly. The one niggle was how busy the shower facilities got at peak times in the morning and evening, but we allowed for this simply by showering much later at night - also new shower blocks were in the process of being built during our stay. With regards to bathroom facilities in general, make absolutely sure you pack jandals to wear into the showers and toilets - the floors could get a bit nasty. Kitchen could be a little busy too, but it was just a case of being patient.

The ground itself has good accessibility, with easy boardwalk access to both sides of the beach.Good takeaways from the campground shop.
If you are planning to tent, be aware that the noise from surrounding tent plots or paths might be irritating.

Beautiful area and a fun beach to visit - would definitely recommend!

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay here at Hotwater Beach Top 10. I totally agree that it is a very busy place to be over peak season and the ques for showers and the other facilities is somewhat longer than our shoulder or offpeak seasons. Changing your shower time was a sensible choice.
The deluxe cabins are our latest addition and yes they are again proving to be a very successful addition to the park.

Loved the campsite. Was only staying 1 night but succumbed to 2. Having family showers as well as normal male or female was a great innovation for us.
My only gripe is with other canmpers, not the owners. How on earth do you stop people throwing their used cigarette butts on the ground around the campsites. It is just awful. if you're a smoker, can you consider others before you throw your butt away around the campsite that I want to hire please!!!!

Thank you for your review. The family showers do prove very popular with our families groups, and also the timer for the hot water is located inside the shower which gives our customers the opportunity to shower alittle longer.

Cigarette butts, the gripe of our lives, we provide several bins for them but I am afraid to say that some of our customers do not see this as littering, your post may remind them!
