“Too damn noisy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Stayed for one week in August through euro camp. The site itself has lots of varied activities (extra fees payable) that are very good. The bar and restaurant areas are over subscribed, the food however is excellent.
The area itself is stunning but very isolated with nothing at all nearby.
We found our holiday home disappointingly small and a little grubby, also ruddy cold at night.
The worst thing of all is the amount of noise from eight in the morning until after midnight. Screaming unsupervised children running riot and nobody giving a toss.
Having said all that it was peak season and I can imagine it would be so much nicer in term time.
All in all we would not go back.

We vistied this place for 8 nights. Its our first trip into France we arrived with our two boys aged 9 and 11 not knowing what to expect.

We found the whole experience to be one of the best holidays we have had together. The boys absolutely loved the facilities and found plenty to do. We would recommend the activities espceially the guided kayak trips and scuba diving.

The whole place was really friendly and helpful, we made lots of friends and really enjoyed ourselves. The food and facilities were really good, would reccomend to any family with active children seeking an experience of eurocamping for the first time.

Thank you Ty Nadan !

We had a quick look at trip advisor as we are returning to this site for the 3rd time in a few days. We were stunned to read the negative reviews of this site and would like to have our say. There were a few reviews that made us laugh out loud at their ridiculous and petty remarks. The staff are all amazing. The food in the restaurant is well priced and delicious. The site itself is beautiful. The toilets are clean and no more than you would expect on huge continent. As for the comments about the 9pm close of the restaurant and their audacity to refuse you a pizza at 9.05pm. They closed at 9pm, why should they serve you? The only noise/ anti social behaviour we have ever experienced were caused by, surprise surprise, British idiots running around in the high wire section. Security dealt with it brilliantly. The activities are well priced and very well run, you show me a similar site in the UK where the instructors could swap between 4-5 languages with no issues? We enjoyed having to lead the children on theory trekking, a welcome break from the over zealous health and safety nonsense of the UK. Very excited to be returning for our third stay at the end of this week. We would recommend this well run site to all. It is nice to be amongst people from all over Europe and experience the relaxed attitude to life that UK citizens could well do with emulating.

Booked through Eurocamp for 1 week in early August 2014. Family of 4 including 2 teenage girls. The positives - The site itself is attractive with lots of mature trees and natural areas and the atmosphere on parc is very good. We had a cabin but with only 1 loo and shower we also used the toilet block facilities on the site which we found to be excellent. Hot water always, very clean and generally quiet. The evening entertainment catered for all tastes and the parc restaurant/bistro was excellent. The eurocamp couriers were extremely friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Our children loved the pool area although it is a lot smaller than in the pictures! Good river frontage with reasonably cheap kayak hire. High wires course is not to be missed.

Negatives - All the pitches were extremely cramped and close together. Very little 'private' garden space to sit on or for the kids to play however, noise levels were not a problem for such a high density site. Eurocamp advertised 'free canoes' but this is not the major benefit we expected. They have only 2 canadian style open canoes which you can book for free but with 72 Eurocamp pitches on site you have little chance of getting a slot. We booked the day after we arrived and the only availability was 1 hour on our last day! The equipment was also not looked after, we were presented with an assortment of mismatched paddles and we were then directed to the life jackets which were stored down beside the Eurocamp cabin in the mud and slugs. The jackets were so ingrained in mould the necklines were black. Wi-Fi is a chargeable extra but is expensive and, more importantly, was unavailable during the most of our stay and when available was very slow.

The main negative was the cabin facilities - very cramped and basic, especially in the twin rooms. We were staying in a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom. We had excellent weather so lived outside most of the time but would have struggled had we needed to rely on the cabin more. The beds are not made up on arrival. I think Eurocamp should consider doing this as after a long journey, tired children and a late arrival, making beds is the last thing!

Do not bother with the Welcome Pack, it was very poor value with very little to actually eat or drink in it! The silliest thing was it contained ground coffee when the cabins don't provide a cafetiere or filter machine.

We did not benefit from booking through Eurocamp and found the same holiday cheaper through Ty-Nadan directly or from Brittanny Ferries. Would return to the region but probably not book through Eurocamp again.

Went with another family so 5 children ages 2, 5, 7, 9, 12. Stayed in 3 bed Espace with Eurocamp. Home slightly dusty and no mattress/pillow protectors but they looked in fairly good condition. Pools smaller than they looked in the photos but actually an ideal size as our children could be seen wherever you sat by the pool. Could do with some more loungers as people did put towels on them to reserve and vanished for a few hours. Indoor pool heated which children enjoyed when it was colder outside. Lifeguards regularly told children to adhere to safety guidelines when coming down the slides.

Activities which our children tried- low and high ropes, outdoor climbing, paint balling, scuba diving, Segway, canoeing, horse riding. All were loved and tuition very good.

Had to wait for table tennis tables as there were only 3.

Bouncy castle was over run by older children in the evenings who would sit on and jump off the sides! If they fell they would break their arms or worse as it was concrete. Sign saying 3-10yo only. Saw one security guard in the evening but he looked about 16yo!

Loved the entertainment in the evenings. Never seen the children so engrossed in bingo or watching karaoke. Ty nadan's own entertainments team worked really hard, especially Julien.

Would love to return as the children said it was their best holiday ever (apart from Disney Florida)

Stayed here in early July. We had our own caravan, requested a large pitch in a quiet area. Instead of that, we got a very compact pitch, in the middle of mobile homes and right in front of the toilets and shower block. Noise from the toilets went from morning through to night, banging doors, dirty toilets, poor power in the ladies showers. 4 toilets and 4 showers in the ladies that couldn't cope with the demand. Large groups of childrens tours took place during our visit there, so the noise of shouting from the toilet block started before 8am every morning. Swimming pool good, but the lifeguards left a lot to be desired, I noticed a book marked in the place where he was reading from on his chair in the pool...Smells of raw sewage were over whelming at night, on short occasions during the daytime, and I suspect they are storing during the day and releasing at night, it kept several of us awake during the last few days of the holiday, complaining was useless and not resolved, not even a member of staff came to check it out. No nightwatchman seen during the stay, and we had several times every night where shouting and roaring woke us, 2,3,4am. There seems to be no curfew as regards to noise. A very expensive stay for a poor quality holiday.

Ty Nadan is set in a lovely location and is a friendly busy campsite with a positive atmosphere but I felt it suffered somewhat from its popularity. Our children went along to quite a few of the organised activities but they were all over subscribed, ie far too many kids and far too few staff to organise them. My husband said there were at least 80 12-18 yr olds wanting to play football, which was only on twice a week (despite the wonderful pitch & full size goals) and the kids ended up playing 2 minute games! This is pretty unsatisfactory. Table tennis was also popular but with only 3 tables there was an awful lot of sitting around waiting you turn - & even then it was only a 5 minute game. This was a real shame. We loved the zip wires & the volley ball (the horse riding was a bit tame). But with a bit of investment, and the campsite is not cheap.... The company could improve the experience of campers. There are not enough sun loungers around the pool but there is certainly space for them. The showers are very hit and miss, choose your time carefully! If you have a tent choose a pitch near the river or on the 400 if you like a bit of peace but obviously this means it's a walk to the pool/shop etc.. Overall, largely due to fantastic weather & nice neighbours, we had a good holiday but I think Ty Nadan is on the verge of being a bit too busy in high season.
