“Great Lobster Dinner”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

I found this restaurant while trying to locate another seafood place. I was lucky enough to have their lobster dinner special which consisted of a 1-lb. lobster, red potatoes, corn, and salad..all for less than $18.00. Everything was yummy. So glad I stopped.

“Relaxing atmosphere & great food”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

But for the parking lot being across the two lane street, this restaurant is one of our favorite places to dine anytime we are in the New Orleans/Westbank area. Upon entering the outdoor seating area, there is a koi pond with a walk bridge over. The surroundings are plants which sets off the seating area from view of the street. It's not really quiet during a busy day, but the evenings seem to be a little less noisy from traffic. The seating is more of a bistro setting so it's not overly comfortable but it's nice especially if the temperatures are cool with low humidity.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very relaxed and casual although the place itself is upbeat & so cozy. It's very clean & the inside temperatures are comfortable during both winter & summer. The wait staff are very friendly, courteous & knowledgable about the menu items offered. The charbroiled oysters are a favorite amongst everyone we know who frequents this dining spot. We have always had great service and very good food. I wouldn't miss dining at the Red Maple EVER!

This restaurant must be a favorite amongst the local business crowd because it has always been full of smiling people anytime we've eaten here during lunch.

We don't visit New Orleans as often as I'd loved to but without a doubt, since being introduced to this restaurant, we have not missed the chance to dine here.

“Could've Been Good But for the Sloooowwww Service”
Reviewed 29 December 2011

We gave up after an hour waiting for our meals to be served and cancelled our orders. Couldn't accommodate a group lunch and normal diners at lunchtime. Oysters LOOKED great. Try it, but call ahead to see if they're fully staffed and don't have big groups scheduled.

“Good food, young staff...”
Reviewed 10 October 2011

We've lived in the area for many years and enjoyed visting Red Maple several times a month when we first moved into the area. Although we eventually quit going because the young waitstaff was a bit too eager for us to enjoy a quiet meal, we decided to try again for a nice dinner this month. Our server, a young female all of 18 years old, was very attentive but unintrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed the fried artichokes as an appetizer, which are served with a side of ranch-like dressing. They were very fresh and tasty. I ordered an 8 ounce filet, medium rare. The inside was cooked perfectly although I felt the outside was slightly burnt, possibly the result of an overheated grill. My husband's ribeye was cooked to perfection. I ordered a side of creamed spinach which unfortunately was more "creamed" than spinach, and that was a bit disappointing. We scored the food 4 stars but our overall score for the restaurant is just a 3 given that throughout our meal we witnessed several of the waitstaff and bussers eating, drinking and playing around. It took away from the overal atmosphere of the restaurant. It appears the majority of the staff are very young and could use a bit more training on how to conduct themselves while on the floor. Given the price point of this restaurant (our bill was just over $100) I'd think twice about going again. The food is good but it's just as much about the atmosphere and ambiance as it is the menu.
