We went for the salt and pepper squid, which we had previously- waiter screwed order and forgot to include this item, so it came after we were done! We had a very difficult time talking with our particular waiter. He didnt understand English and it was so very noisy, we couldn't hear much of what he said. The com nep ap chao- chicken breast with tamarind sauce came with crispy rice patties flavored with sweet coconut- Delish!! overall food was great- service was a little lacking.

They have a huge menu and the portion sizes are generous. However, the food is average or a little bit better. The Pho is good and also the friend rice served in a hot pot. However, nothing is outstanding. Just an average place to have Vietnamese food.

A few places report Tan Dihn is the best or second best in an area heavily populated by Vietnamese people. As an amateur Pho-natic, I try Pho everywhere I go, so I was fairly disappointed by Tan Dihn's flavorless broth, poor service and skimpy portions. The Bahn Mi was the shining spot in an otherwise waste of money.

The calamari and egg rolls were delicious. They had very big portions. Our waitress was hard to find at time; however, other staff were very helpful. Enjoyed my lunch!

We ordered the chicken salad as a starter and had enough there for two main courses and still some left over to take home! Followed by shrimp vermicelli and shrimp curry. Again, had plenty to take home for another meal for two. Service good. The only drawback (common in many Vietnamese restaurants in New Orleans) was they had two TVs and Vietnamese music (not the best in the world) playing over the top. Not the place for a romantic meal out. The idea in most of them seems to be you just eat, pay and leave.
