I am staying at the Comfort Suite for a week and had great expectations based on reading other reviews. Unfortunately there were problems from the begining, after getting to my room and looking over everything I noticed that my fridge was running loud so I opened the door only to find a big block of ice stuck to the back. Then I realized that the door was broken and wouldn't close all the way. I called the front desk and was told that they would send maintenance up to check it out. I left for a meeting and when I returned the fridge was in the same condition only the temp was turned to 0. I called the desk again and was told maintenance was gone and they will get to it the next day. Needless to say I have been here 4 days with no fridge plus the hall way smells like mold the ice machine on the 2nd floor doesn't work and the ice on the 3rd floor has black stuff stuck to the ice as it comes out. On top of it all you can hear everything through the walls and it seemd like the kids upstairs were at a play ground and the elderly next door discovered viagra (YUCK) I will not stay here ever again!!!!

Room Tip: A/C doesn't cool the whole room just the area by the bed.

The frugal folks in our company's accounting department picked this spot for a dozen of our company employees to stay in during a recent trade show in the New Orleans Convention Center. Never would I select

The good: nice facility, rooms were good size, clean, comfortable. Breakfast in the lobby was above average for the freebie breakfast fare. If you are staying only in this area, there are plenty of the usual chain restaurants on Manhattan Blvd, but then again, you are near New Orleans, with its plethora of amazing restaurants, so why would you eat at Chili's? Sort of like visiting a comic book shop in Paris instead of going to the Louvre.

The bad: No fitness room, surrounded by a less than desirable neighborhood. A 20 minute car ride to the convention center including the stop at the toll booth on the bridge over the Mississippi.

The ugly: Why is this hotel here? Someone's tax write-off? Clearly the city of New Orleans needs more hotel rooms downtown and in the Convention Center area. Many, many more.

We are a fan of most Choice hotels so we went out searching for locations in NOLA. This location is about 15 min from the city but we have kids and a car so no worries...and it saved us some money. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and big. My kids loved having the options of 2 tv's between all of us. The beds were not very comfy. I thought thye were too stiff and firm. My back woke up sore each morning. The breakfast was yummy!! The hotel is in a sketchy pull off street. It backs up to an apt complex that looks iffy. Probably would not come back to this location.

This hotel appears to have been recently updated. It was clean. Parking was cramped. If you travel with a work trailer, don't pull in; you will have to back out. There is no turn-around. The room was large. A bonus was a huge flat screen TV. I didn't measue but I bet it was at least 52 inches. There seemed to be a lack of sound proofing between rooms and I was disturbed to the point that I left the room for awhile to flea from the noice, but at 11 pm, it was still going on. There seemed to be a slumber party going on in the next room along with several 6 year old squealing girls.(Note: I didn't complain to the management, because I figured the girls just wanted to have a little fun.) The bed was OK, but could have been better; not real plush; not real firm, just a bed. There was a nice big comforter on the bed which helped when I turned the air conditioner on 60 degrees to keep the compressor going to help drown out the noise. I was there for work and had to rise early. Weekend breakfast is available at 7 AM, the same time I have to be at work. Coffee and cereal were available at 6 AM. There is a high degree of foot traffic between the local residential area and the main street. The hotel parking lot is well lighted. WiFi was excellent.

Staff was more than friendly... they helped themselves to my belongings while I was away from the room and upon returning to florida, I was mortified to find that I had clothing and jewelery missing from my luggage. My first impression of the neighbor"hood' instinctively told me to think twice before even entering but it was Mardi Gras week and most of the hotels in decent areas were booked. It was very noisy and often reaked of Marijuana in the hallways. If you have to stay here, lock your belongings before leaving the room or don't allow your suite to be cleaned unless you are present. Also be careful of your surroundings while getting in or out of your vehicle. The view from my suite was the "HOOD", very depressing.

Room Tip: Be careful of the areas surrounding the location of your hotel.

Could have stayed at a four star hotel (special rates for a family death) for the same price but thought being close to the necessary funeral home was best. It was difficult to find being tucked betweem a strip mall and a really bad apartment complex. If you stay here you won't want to be out after dark. Parking is very limited.
This was a nice looking and fairly new hotel. Our main complaint was housekeeping. Our "clean" room had an obviously dirty toilet, hair pins on the floor, and hairs in the bathroom. The bed was not made because a shirt was left on it and a breakfast tray was still on the table at 4 PM.

The free breakfast was okay but very poorly arranged. There's no reason the bread was on the other side of the room from the toasters. It took asking to find anything as it was all illogical.

Room Tip: Rooms seem to have thin walls but it was quiet after 10 PM.

We stayed at this place for one night last weekend. The hotel was clean, the room was spotless, the breakfast was excellent with hot sausage, eggs, waffles and the usual continental items. It was a great place for a family of 5 because everyone had a bed. There is no pool and that was slightly disappointing to the grand kids but I failed to check that before I booked. We were able to stay at an affordable place and took the Algiers ferry (free for pedestrians) over to the French Quarter so didn't have to worry about parking. Overall we were very pleased.
