I have been the "The Point" many times. The Point is and older structure and the if you are looking for place with plush atmosphere go elsewhere. It is however comfortable with ample seating. Lots of New Orleans memorabilia decorates the walls and bar. Pretty nice to go back time.
Every time I go I expect and get great down home cooking. The sandwiches, club sandwiches, and po-boys and the all the plate dishes are absolutely wonderful. The owner is a wonderful woman who has run the place for many years.
You get in line to order, pay, and then take a seat. Food is brought out to you by friendly cooks.
This is off the beaten path a bit for visitors but do yourself a favor and get off that path and check this place out. You will not regret it. The Point is open just for lunch so plan accordingly.
