“Nice place, missing a few frills”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2009

This hotel was reasonably priced and perfectly adequate for many visitors. It's near the airport, therefore a bit far from New Orleans proper, but fine for daylong trips into the city or hanging out in the 'burbs. The rooms aren't partciularly spacious, but they aren't too cramped either--serviceable. AC worked well and was adjustable. The wired internet connection had a quirk; it wouldn't let me access any e-mail sites, but would let me get to most public-type sites. Fine if you just want to web surf a little, but very frustrating if you need to, say, check work e-mail. A call to their support line didn't help.

The bed was quite comfortable and the room was clean. As advertised, there was a coffee maker and hair dryer in the room. There is no fridge or microwave, though, if you like to have those. The breakfast offered was not exciting, but perfectly adequate. They do have a little bar on the premises that is open fairly late, and there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The shower was a bit temperamental--hard to get the water at the right temperature and pressure--but it could be managed with some concentration. Water pressure was not an issue; if anything, it was too hard, but you could adjust it down.

Generally speaking, it's clean and pleasant, without a few amenities that can be nice to have. If you are just looking for a good place to sleep, it's perfect. If you're going to be spending a little more time here, you might prefer a place that has a little more conveniences.

We stayed here overnight on our way back from visiting our son in Pensacola. We had an early morning flight so the location was convenient to the airport. We got an decent rate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable, as were the beds and the a/c worked great. Breakfast bar was decent The only negative was the hallways were musty smelling which is probably a common thing in New Orleans considering all they have been through. But heck, we weren't sleeping in the hallway! The next time we take a trip to New Orleans, we will definitely stay here again.

The front desk service here was friendly. Rooms were good, with very comfortable beds. Wi-Fi was not available in the rooms, although a free wired internet connection worked ok.
There are plenty of nearby eateries, but expect to take your life into your hands when crossing the road - the nearest set of traffic lights does not include a pedestrian crossing signal. Close to the airport with a complimentary shuttle.

Complimentary breakfast was passable, standard American fare.

We stayed at this hotel twice on a recent trip - our first and last night of a trip around the holidays. We chose it despite some negative reviews because It was by far the cheapest hotel near the airport. It is nothing fancy, but it provides all the necessities, and the staff was much more friendly and helpful than at a much more expensive hotel chain we stayed in during our trip.

We arrived very late on Christmas Day, but the staff greeted us warmly, explained all the amenities available, and did not seem at all disgruntled to be there when everyone else was home having fun.

The hallways are dimly lit and a little stale smelling, and the overall tan decor didn't help. However, our room itself was fine, roomy, and even had a little refrigerator. The light in the bathroom was broken, but it was fixed almost immediately after we reported it.

The continental breakfast is enough to keep you going until lunch. There was fruit, cereal, waffles, and other things beyond the usual sugary Danish. Breakfast starts early for those with early morning flights.

The staff was able to provide good directions to the places we needed to go. Most importantly, the very early morning shuttle was on time so that we had no problems getting our 6:50 am flight on a very busy travel day.

The hotel is located on a non-descript stretch of road, and it is nowhere near downtown New Orleans, so I would not recommend it for an extended vacation stay. However, for a night or two near the airport or the New Orleans suburbs or Kenner or Metairie, it is good value.

Room 'looked' nice but was dirty. The sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable but the carpet had sticky stuff on it and the bathroom was visibly dirty (poop marks in the toilet, pubic hair in the bathtub). You could tell that the bathroom wasn't really clean, just wiped down with a wet rag. I can only assume the dark green carpet was even dirtier, but since it was dark green you couldn't see anything. If they just cleaned properly I would have said 3-4 starts, but I would not stay here again. Plus- I was at the airport in 6 minutes for a 6am flight.

We just got back Sunday(5/04/2008) night from Jazz Fest in New Orleans..

We stayed in Kenner, a suburb(5-10 minutes from N.O.) of New
New Orleans at the LaQuinta Inn Westbank. We choose this because of availabilty at the last minute. Rooms were scarce as Jazz Fest is huge. We were happy as the room was clean, the staff courteous and the free breakfast.....Free, lol..

I would like to highly recommend Heritage Seafood 4 lights from the hotel on Williams Blvd. We went there upon suggestion from the hotel staff, after I asked about getting the Shrimp po Bo i was craving. This place was busy on saturday at 1 P.M., as if it were a Mon thru Fri Lunch rush! so fresh.. My wifes cajun eggplant Pireogue, draped in a succulent seafood sauce was wheeeee dang good!!!

Jazz Fest was incredible..Stevie Wonder, Frankie Beverly and Maze, plus sooo many, many, many many, more, covering every facet of music from Blues to jazz, to Rock to Hip Hop, to reggae, to country to...Well you get the idea..

They had 11 stages...Sooo many people, food Shrimp Po Boys & spicy crawfish Sushi were my favorites. Went to the French Qauarter one evening and saw Danny Devito directing a movie starring Pamela Anderson's ex Tommy Lee and some folks I did not recognize...

We are standing there watching Devito get madder and madder because the actors are not nailing the scene as he wants. In the meantime a woman with the film crew came up to my wife and I saying, since we were gonna be in a crowd shot, we had to sign a release...

My real name is Kevan , but I signed Derrick Love...While she prepared my wife Sheila's paper, I whispered into her ear that I did not use my real name and for her not to use hers..(Identity theft fear/ paranoia with my signature) I asked her what she signed a bit later. She said Patricia Love...Sooo i guess if we ever visit Las Vegas, We will become that "hot" couple Derrick and Patricia Love, lol...

New Orleans is coming back, but still needs our tourist support...

Nex big thing for me is deciding whether to roll to the essence Fest 4th of July weekend...Yes it moved to Houston after Katrina, but is back and gonna be off tha charts this year...

Le bon temps Roulet!!!!

We really like this hotel and they were very nice to us. We were stranded two extra days in New Orleans due to bad weather in New England. So we had a longer vacation -- darn. The hotel was nice to us and allowed us to be flexible in our plans as they kept changing since we kept having flights home canceled as the weather continued to be bad. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast terrific and the service very good. We were very pleased and would recommend this hotel completely. A good value for us as well.
