We were looking for a cozy, tranquil and beautiful place to relax from our busy schedules and found it all in Les Hamaques!
We instantly felt the nice atmosphere and the love of design in every little detail. It mades us feel so comfortable and welcome that we just can say that it has been the best choice to book this place. The beds were comfy, the showers just perfect and even the breakfast (typical catalan) was delicate enough to start the day. But nothing is worth without the "human touch" of Ino and Dominic. The creators of this beautiful paradise are very lovely people who were friendly enough to share the restaurant tips and the best "sightseeing" tips around Viladamat. We spotted places such as Cadaques, Llafranc, Girona, Sant Marti and Pals just to name a few and each has been wonderful in its own.
All in all, we can highly recommend Les Hamaques if you are looking for a place to relax, to eat well and appreciate the ambience of nice interior, design and lovely people. And not to forget, a lovely dog called Uma, too :)

We stayed at Les Hamaques in the beginning of April. The stay was perfect. Ino and Dominic are wonderful hosts. Dominic will tell you everything there is to know about the region and is happy to do so. They both have the best tips for restaurants, tours, beaches, etc. On our last evening they managed to make a reservation for us at le Compartir which, as we found out later, was actually already fully booked.
We didn't have much luck with the weather (it was just becoming spring) except for the last day, with 20 degrees and sunshine. But there is enough to do in the area for all weather types. City, small towns, walks, beach, long lunches, dinners, etc. And if you just want to relax you can stay and sit in the garden of hang in the hammock.

My husband and I had a most memorable three night stay at Les Hamaques in October 2012.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Ino and Domenic (Uma, too!) and settled into our comfortable and charming room overlooking the gardens.
Our breakfasts and dinners in the conservatory, prepared by our hosts, were simple and flavourful, using local ingredients.
The location was perfect for exploring Figeres, Girona, Cadequès and the Costa Brava, and our hosts were more than happy to provide us with recommendations for touring and dining.
We loved the interesting décor as well as the ambience of Les Hamaques.
Ino and Domenic are such gracious hosts.
We look forward to another visit one day.

Connecting with the senses in Les Hamaques was the therapy my wife and I needed after a few months of hard work and accumulated tension. We arrived to a beautifully deserted Emporda village, one of those places where you can park your car anywhere without inconveniencing anyone, always such a wonderful experience. On the street with us, there was a farmer repairing his tractor, a few kids ridding their bikes, and an old lady cleaning the shutters of her beautiful stone home. The sun, the fields, the centuries old architecture, all serving as reminders of the fact that we had now entered this enchanting Catalan land famous for its Tramuntana winds. Before even entering Les Hamaques, we knew we had found the peace we needed, what we couldn't guess was the charming magic that awaited us. Playful Uma (A labrador) was the first to greet us, then followed her owners Ino and Dominique. It is they we thank for such a memorable stay. Beautiful gardens, wonderful interior design, breakfast in the greenhouse, dinner with local wines and salmon cooked perfectly, jazz music by the fire place. A combination of feeling at home amongst friends with the service of a luxury hotel. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed a wonderful 5 nights at Les Hamaques last week and it was utter heaven.

Ino and Dominic are the perfect hosts - warm, inviting and always on hand to offer advice on places to visit and eat (we stumbled across a spectacular beachside hotel restaurant on Dominic's advice) yet are not overbearing in what is a very private, calm and peaceful environment - you truly feel as though you're very welcome guests at their home. Hubbie and I have ventured to many hotels and B&Bs and often the trip can be 'interrupted' by over-eager B&B owners who won't leave you alone, but Ino and Dominic are 100% approachable without wanting to know the what's, where's and when's of our every move!

The house itself is beautiful - for anyone with a keen interior design eye or love of furniture and furnishings, you'll love it. Our room was a decent size and we had our own little outside terrace with hammock and table and chairs. We were lucky in that due to the time of year, we had the sun loungers and pool to ourselves every day and I could have happily spent another few weeks lying there reading my book!

The location of Les Hamaques is best accessible with a car - we couldn't have got around without one - but there are plenty of sites a mere 5 minutes away and we travelled to both Girona city (highly recommended) in 25 minutes and Barcelona (where we flew into) in an hour and half - the motorways there are far quieter than ours!

We were genuinely sad to leave yesterday and will be back, without a doubt!...
