This is not just another beautiful building. The live oak on the property is one of the oldest known in existence. The gardens and landscaping are so beautifully done that they just pop and make the area a peaceful retreat as well as a lovely thing to look at. The cemetery around behind the cathedral and the surrounding buildings just all fit together so as to make this whole grounds appear seamlessly put together despite many years in between their establishment.

We took all six children to see this landmark built in 1821. The exterior is exquisitely designed and the interior is awe-inspiring.

The saddest part is that the tabernacle was not in the center of the church on the alter so we had to look around for it.

This is truly a beautiful church. It holds masses daily and once a month has a french rosary. The huge old oak tree that sits beside it is also a must see.

It is beautiful here! My kids were awestruck with the St. John's Oak. Standing in the presence of this colossal tree makes you feel tiny! Inside the cathedral is gorgeous. My daughter actually took pictures of the interior for photography and placed 4th place place in our county livestock show.

This is not really a tourist attraction but a beautiful working church. We did slip in and sit for a short time.
