We have stayed one night in two rooms. The owner is an old nice and charming man, full of good advices and always willing to help. The breakfast is very good and very tasty, since he used to own the best restaurant in Lafayette.

There are however a significant number of cons:
    - the house is right on a road with a heavy traffic
    - the rooms and bathroom are tiny and to be honest, quite ugly, offering little comfort.

Overall, it is overpriced. For the same price, you can have in Louisiana a wonderful room in a beautiful plantation, rather than a small room offering less comfort than a motel. The owners are charming, but most owners of B&Bs in Louisiana are.

We recently stayed one night at T'Frere's. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We found the B&B on the Internet and found the site to be helpful. We enjoyed our conversation with Maugie the afternoon we arrived as we sipped our T'Juleps and ate our Cajun Canapes. We stayed in a room in a cottage in the back, adjacent to the main house. It was nice and quiet. In the morning we enjoyed the gourmet breakfast. The only down sides were the time of breakfast (8:00 am sharp-maybe different on weekends???) and the location - it is at the corner of a busy street. If you come in on US 90 to Verot School Rd (turn right) you will have to drive past it (it's on the left) and double back to get in. Maugie did suggest a nice restaurant close by called Randol's that has great Cajon food and a live Cajun band/dancing nightly.

Room Tip: If you are travelling in two groups you might want to choose the two guest rooms in the back cottage. You will have your own patio area.

This B&B looks nothing like the photo--which must have been taken 15 years ago. It is located on a high speed suburban road, there is a very tall hedge out front, and it's now a compound with a fence, parking lot and unattractive signage. The property retains none of its historic integrity. The original building has been added on to, and a couple of outbuildings have been added. We stayed in a room in a building out back, called the Bouree room. For this amount of money ($135 plus tax), you might expect fluffy towels and high thread count sheets, but unfortunately not here. The room is decorated in "shabby chic," but in a mismatched style. Be aware that this room does not have a thermostat--it's in the guestroom next door. In spite of asking the neighbors nicely if they could turn it up a couple degrees, we were freezing and ended up standing up on a bench and closing all the vents. When we left for dinner it was getting dark, but we couldn't find a lightswitch for the porch light. When we came back it was pitch dark with neither of the two room's outside lights on. My husband fell on the steps. The a/c compressor is right outside the window next to the bed, and is quite noisy. There is a lot of structure here--they want guests to check in at 4:30, get a tour together (so they only have to do it once) and sit down with a very sweet cocktail and listen to their pitch for dinner at a selection of restaurants. You are expected to let them make a reservation for you (they obviously have an "arrangement" like a lot of concierges at hotels have with restaurants). Also found it very odd that in Cajun country, Louisiana with the Gulf of Mexico, the bayous etc. that they served an hors d'oeuvre that consisted of imitation crabmeat on toast! Breakfast is at 8am sharp, which is awfully early. After a hard week and looking for a mini-vacation, getting up at 7am on a Sunday morning on my birthday was not my idea of relaxing. We ended up oversleeping, and had the uplanned extra expenditure of breakfast at a restaurant. Check out is at 10am, which is also early. This couple runs other businesses, so efficiency is obviously important to them. Now having said all of this, I will say that everyone there could not have been nicer. And if the cost of the room had been 40% less, I wouldn't even be writing this. We just expected more for the money. Also found it strange that in some listings the place was called "Ahhh T'Frere's." That's either to make it sound more Cajun, or (more likely) to bring it to the top of an alphabetical list.of B&B's.

Room Tip: Rooms inside the main house look nicer, but don't all have their own bath. If you are sensitive to noise, there is a/c compressor noise in the Bouree room, and there is probably traffic noise in the front of the main house.

We enjoyed everything! The Mary room is lovely. Breakfast was fun and yummy! Dinner recommendation was good. Happy this place has had a long history and that we could share a bit of it. Maugie's history in the community is interesting, just the sort of visit that makes B &B stays so special.

Difficult to add much to what's been said already by so many guests, but yes, it's comfortable professional and friendly. The idea of gathering the guests for T'Juleps and general chat in the late afternoon is great and their knowledge of the local dining scene very useful. Plenty of lively talk over breakfast with other well-travelled guests - and the Mardi Gras version of the ooh la la breakfast deserves an extra ooh and la.
