Egrets roosting in the trees, sunsets that make for awesome photos in the evenings, and just a lovely place to visit. What more could one want in a nature preserve? I truly enjoyed driving around this area and watching the wildlife as well as walking around and trying to spot the alligators as they peered out of the water.

Thank Karen B

Fun place to fish and watch the birds fly in and out. Great for pictures!! Have a place to rent canoes and plenty of tour guides to take you on a lakeside adventure

WE love to come her ein the spring to watch the birds nest. They are late this year. so when we went the egrets were still nesting on their eggs. Normally they would have been hatched by now. WE had a late winter like the rest of the country.
love this place. there is a new shack there to buy a cold one and use their restroom so that is helpful, sort of an eye sore though. WE saw a big alligator with about 6 babies swimming in the water fairly close to shore. awesome!

We saw a lot of alligators here and birds. Had a nice walk and took beautiful pictures. It's not like you walk for hours but they made a nice trail. Beautiful trees and plants. And we were lucky to see alligators.

See the Lake Martin Louisiana swamp draped with hanging moss and dotted with water hyacinths, many wild birds, gators and turtles, Lake Martin offers it all. If you visit in the Spring, you will see hundreds egrets, roseate spoonbills, ducks and other native Louisiana birds nesting in the area. In the Spring the alligators and turtles are plentiful. Take the Champagne Cajun Swamp Tour for a close up look with experienced guides. I trip highlight.
