We travel to Lafayette often and will always stay with the Fairfield Inn and Suites Lafayette South. The staff is amazing and the rooms are very clean. The girl at the front desk at check in was very warm and welcoming. It exceeded my expectations! Great job!!!

There are MUCH better alternatives to Lafayette lodging than this hotel. I would recommend spending $5-$10 more per night for the Residence Inn (if you must gain Marriott Reward points) or Staybridge Suites. My decision is based on poor customer service, along with the out-dated guest rooms/bathrooms.

I requested to be moved to another room for two reasons: The room above provided much thumping as the guests walked and the refrigerator would not cool. In the new room, the frig still did not cool and I informed two front desk reps (Ms. Boutte was one of them) and neither saw to it that I was given a working frig or somehow compensated for my troubles, i.e., spoiled food. Their response (or lack of) spoke volumes to the hotel's lack of ensuring customer satisfaction!

Not sure why this hotel has such high ratings, and what all the hype is about the narrow, brown river behind the hotel....perhaps the reviewers are accustomed to low-end establishments and/or do not travel much.

A wonderful hostess named Connie went far beyond the call of duty. We had left an expense reports on a table in the lobby. Moments later when I called back it was gone/thrown away. When I returned Connie went to the dumpster and found my reports. Beside the fact they have a wonderful continental breakfast and clean rooms, it’s a great place to stay.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites (Mariott) is a great hotel next to the river (my room looked on the river). Room are large, internet is free and breakfast included. All against an very affordable rate (<75$).

This hotel is spotless and well run. The rooms are very nice. Since this is a suites you get a small living room type area and a nice sized sleeping room. We ahd two double beds. We stayed here because of positive Trip Advisor comments and were not disappointed. The Internet is free and is both ethernet and wireless. A normal Fairfield Inn type bvreakfast is served. The inn is quiet and well located in Lafayette.

We went to the 'World Famous' Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, and decided to stay in Lafayette, which is 10 minutes from BB. I did alittle investigation into what hotels were there, of course thru Tripadvisor, and selected this Fairfield Inn based on reviews. We got a Queen Suite, which has 2 queen beds and a living rm area w/sofa bed.

First, this hotel is so clean--dont know if it's because maybe it's new. But the room was fantastic-very clean. It has a microwave and small fridge. Had comfy beds and, believe it or not, a very comfy sofabed! Decor was pleasant and bed linens were clean and fresh.

Has the Vermillion Bayou running behind the hotel so you're given a great view. Right next door to Fairfield is Outback Steakhouse. Wonderful to eat there after driving for awhile.

The afternoon front desk staff that was there when we checked in were 2 guys who were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about how to get around.

One bonus--I was looking for a restaurant where I could get a muffaletta, and one of the frt desk guys referred us to La Pizzeria. Unfortunately, they didnt serve muffalettas for dinner (go figure), so we ordered a pizza. We were pleasantly surprised. Lots of toppings and nice crispy crust.

The staff is the best. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is only a couple of years old and is in top shape. The prices are fair. There is a pool and hot tub outdoors overlooking the Vermillion River. Great views and very relaxing. A computer for guests' use in the lobby with high speed.
I have family in Lafayette and visit regularly. I have stayed at the Hilton, Hotel Acadiana and Embassy Suites. This Fairfield is better. I have stayed there many times since it opened and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is personable and friendly, the staff treats you graciously, from the front desk to management to housekeeping. All friendly without being intrusive.
The fact that there is a stop light at the entrance to the hotel parking lot from Pinhook Rd. makes getting out, especially during rush hour, a lot easier than getting in or out of the parking lot of the nearby Hilton. That is a HUGE plus in dealing with traffic there.
It is conveniently located. The Heymann Auditorium (concerts, craft shows) is nearby, as are several of Lafayette's best restaurants. (Guidry's - not fancy, but delicious and inexpensive, Cafe Vermillionville - expensive, but well worth it and Blue Dog - inventive Cajun food and moderately priced. All 3 are great in their own way.) There's a Chili's and an Outback just yards from the front entrance of hotel also.
The suites with the separate living room and adjacent working area are the best. All the rooms have fridges and microwaves. There is an excellent selection of microvable meals and treats in the lobby.
I just wish that free breakfast was available a little later in the morning, as I am not an early riser.
I've stayed at this hotel 5 times in the past 12 months and will be going back in June. It's just the best place to stay in Lafayette.
