“Good food but tired looks”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

We decided we wanted to have Korean food after a long time and stopped by at the Korea House located in the Fat City area of Metairie. We had been there at least five years ago and looks like nothing has changed. The decor looks tired and there is the smell and sound of food cooking on the table and that got me drooling. The food at this place is good and reasonably priced. They have free refills on the little plates of goodies that they serve with your entree. If you like Korean food, give it a try. Don't let the looks deceive you, and you will like the food here.

“Nice break from American or Creole fare”
Reviewed 4 September 2013 via mobile

If I had to compare it to the Korean restaurants in my hometown, the food is average. However, for New Orleans where there aren't many Korean restaurants, it's pretty good. The Korean Seafood pancake I had was ok. I wouldn't order it again. The pancake should be crispy on the outside, but gooey on the inside. The seafood should also be tender and fresh. The pancake instead tasted like it was cooked on medium heat. It was the same chewy consistency all the way through. The beef ribs was well marinated and flavorful. I would order this dish again. The prices were very reasonable for what you get. The side dishes were good, but not exceptional. I would come back for the Korean bbq meat dishes.

“A Little of Korea in New Orleans”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

This is the only Korean restaurant near New Orleans. Don't let the exterior and lobby appearance put you off. The food is good, inexpensive and plentiful. Most tables have charcoal grills (fired with real charcoal, not gas) for cooking at the table. Korean food is nothing like Japanese or Chinese or Thai. Be sure to try the hot kim chee and tofu appetizer. The bulgogi is tender and full of flavor.

“Surprisingly good”
Reviewed 15 October 2012

It looks like a dive in the rundown old Fat City area, but the food is very good and inexpensive. Portions are large. Highly recommended for those with exotic tastes.
