“Nice surprise in Metairie”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

This restaurant is in an unassuming location in Metairie, outside New Orleans. The restaurant is clean and well put together, if slightly dated. The staff and service were very good. The continental and Cajun/Creole fusion food was excellent. My family and I were pleased with the food and we recommend you visit this restaurant.

“Not a bad meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

Dined with friends who hadn't been here in yrs, it was our first experience. We started with appetizers of fried lobster tail, and beets with a crabmeat romelade sauce. Then for entrees we had soft shell crab topped with a crab cake topped with sauce, a pan sheet thin veal with crabmeat sauce and lobster raviolis- both were rich and yum! Service and price were average to good. A favourable experience!

“Delicious hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2013

Went on a Thursday evening, around nine, and were thrilled to get a table. Elegant restaurant with amazing specials and entrees. Fantastic service. We got the oyster appetizer, which included two oysters Bienville and two fried oysters with spinach, all four served on half shell. Perfect for a couple to share! Also shared mirliton bisque. OMG! You must try this if it is available! Had the grilled redfish with crabmeat and asparagus, and were thrilled that the chef substituted the rice pilaf, we're not fans, with a potato side that was amazing! Salads were so fresh and the dressing delicious! Ended the meal with the crème brulee. Delicious. Excellent service. We will definitely be going back!

“Neighborhood but gourmet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2013

Restaurant Cypress is a hidden gem located in a suburb of New Orleans but it can hold its own against many of the famous New Orleans restaurants. The seafood dishes are hard to beat - usually there is a fresh fish special every night and it is always delicious. The combination fried softshell crab and crab cake entree is perfection. Steaks are top notch. Service is friendly and efficient and the bar puts out excellent drinks. I have eaten at Cypress many times and have never been disappointed.
