We had never stayed at any of the Bed and Breakfast in the Natchitoches area, but had attended the festivals. We located this Bed and Breakfast on the internet, but not sure exactly how. If you like to attend the festivals along the waterway, this is the number ONE spot for enjoying the activities and the shops. The back of the Bed and Breakfast is located directly on the East side of the waterway and all the activities are located directly West of it on the waterway. I did not get to see the 3rd story of the Bed and Breakfast, but I did get to see the 1st and 2nd story. I personally enjoyed the bottom (1st) floor more than the 2nd story. We stayed in the bottom, so I know more about it. The bottom story is 75% located in the hillside so it is absolutely quiet since you only have one window facing south with a window unit in it. The only exterior door is a french door opening to the West. It was very cozy with a full bath located in the back, a small kitchen, which we used very little because we ate out and enjoyed all the local restaurants and bars. But it does have a full sized refrigerator and freezer for your use which is stocked with a few things you need such as water and milk. It also comes with full pots/pans/silverware, etc if you would like to cook. It also has a full continental breakfast in the room for your use such as cereals, sweet rolls, muffins, etc. It has an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, throws, and lots of personals which make it a very enjoyable room. It has cable television with a large assortment of paid channels, a queen sized bed which is very comfortable, with a small sitting area at the foot of the bed. Don't let the size of the room fool you though, because it may be small in size, but not small in benefits.
The second story actually is the same size, but doesn't have the seperate kitchen or the full size refrigerator, and has a bigger tub, but doesn't have the fully seperated bathroom (in other words, its in the bedroom). It does have a more open bedroom with a larger sitting area.
The outside sitting area is absolutely enjoyable with a very old oak tree that pretty much covers the whole yard with the exception of a small area alongside the seawall facing the waterway. There is a charcoal barbeque pit which is available for your use, a couple of table and chairs, and park benches.
The only drawback would be parking arrangements. There is only enough parking for 1 vehicle per unit, so be sure to double up if possible.
Overall, I rate this unit as very enjoyable with a personal touch and the owner is just down the road if you need anything. The owner goes out of the way to make sure you are very comfortable during your stay.

Room Tip: Absolutely the very best Bed and Breakfast located on the waterway, just a very short walk from the...

Our family of five spent Labor Day weekend at Andre's. It is a charming, beautifully maintained property, directly across Cane River Lake from historic downtown Natchitoches.

The house was originally the home of Irma Sompayrac-Willard, a local artist (some of her work is displayed in the rooms). The property has been expertly subdivided into three very comfortable, very secluded studio-style rooms. The bottom room opens onto a large, beautifully landscaped waterfront lawn, affording a great view of Natchitoches. It also features a small, but fully equipped kitchen. There's a grill and a fire pit at the water's edge.

Downtown, with shopping, dining, and the lovely Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, is just a short walk across the Church Street bridge. You're comfortably close to all the sights, but Andre's is secluded enough that the bustle of downtown never intrudes.

The rooms are comfortable - the hardwood floors are especially pretty - and scrupulously clean. Billie, the proprietor, is friendly and welcoming, and she understands that when the temperatures are pushing 100 degrees, a refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, juice and bottled water is a most welcome treat!

Our first night, a zydeco festival was being held in the city park on the other side of the river. We sat and listened, enjoying the great music. It was perfect.

I can't say enough good about this place!

Room Tip: Two of the rooms can only be accessed by stairs, so they may pose a challenge for some visitors.

I'm a traveling sales rep and I love the break from staying in a hotel room. This place is like staying at your own house. Beds comfortable clean and very unique place. Fridge is stocked with drinks and breakfast items. Complete with biscotti.

My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to Natchitoches for our anniversary, and I was surprised at just how lovely this B&B turned out to be. So cute outside and inside, great view of the river, very close to the riverfront area, jacuzzi tub and plenty of snacks and breakfast items. If we stay in Natchitoches in the future, this is the first place I want to try and get a reservation at. It was just wonderful.

I'll be back. I stayed in July 2013 when it was scorching outside, but my room was cool, serene and super clean. Décor is simple, good quality and the bedding is great! Bath is roomy. Tiny, but nice kitchen. Lovely river view. Walking distance to the front street attractions. Loved the wide-plank flooring.

This was our first stay at Andre's Riverview, but it won't be our last! Quiet, relaxing, & cozy getaway within walking distance of historic downtown Natchitoches. We absolutely loved the River Room & the staff was very friendly! We had everything we needed in our suite! Very nice to walk right outside your door in the morning, or evening, and enjoy the view on the Cane River (even got to do a little fishing)! We will be telling others about our stay & recommending Andre's Riverview to them! Thanks Billie!!!

We stayed at Andre's Riverview in June and it was a wonderful experience. The room was extremely clean and the owner was very friendly and accommodating. We will stay there again. The breakfast was wonderful and the view was beautiful. We would definitely recommend this to any visiting in Natchitoches.
