We had never stayed at any of the Bed and Breakfast in the Natchitoches area, but had attended the festivals. We located this Bed and Breakfast on the internet, but not sure exactly how. If you like to attend the festivals along the waterway, this is the number ONE spot for enjoying the activities and the shops. The back of the Bed and Breakfast is located directly on the East side of the waterway and all the activities are located directly West of it on the waterway. I did not get to see the 3rd story of the Bed and Breakfast, but I did get to see the 1st and 2nd story. I personally enjoyed the bottom (1st) floor more than the 2nd story. We stayed in the bottom, so I know more about it. The bottom story is 75% located in the hillside so it is absolutely quiet since you only have one window facing south with a window unit in it. The only exterior door is a french door opening to the West. It was very cozy with a full bath located in the back, a small kitchen, which we used very little because we ate out and enjoyed all the local restaurants and bars. But it does have a full sized refrigerator and freezer for your use which is stocked with a few things you need such as water and milk. It also comes with full pots/pans/silverware, etc if you would like to cook. It also has a full continental breakfast in the room for your use such as cereals, sweet rolls, muffins, etc. It has an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, throws, and lots of personals which make it a very enjoyable room. It has cable television with a large assortment of paid channels, a queen sized bed which is very comfortable, with a small sitting area at the foot of the bed. Don't let the size of the room fool you though, because it may be small in size, but not small in benefits.
The second story actually is the same size, but doesn't have the seperate kitchen or the full size refrigerator, and has a bigger tub, but doesn't have the fully seperated bathroom (in other words, its in the bedroom). It does have a more open bedroom with a larger sitting area.
The outside sitting area is absolutely enjoyable with a very old oak tree that pretty much covers the whole yard with the exception of a small area alongside the seawall facing the waterway. There is a charcoal barbeque pit which is available for your use, a couple of table and chairs, and park benches.
The only drawback would be parking arrangements. There is only enough parking for 1 vehicle per unit, so be sure to double up if possible.
Overall, I rate this unit as very enjoyable with a personal touch and the owner is just down the road if you need anything. The owner goes out of the way to make sure you are very comfortable during your stay.
