Steel Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast

From the moment we walked into the house, we felt welcomed and at home. When we arrived, we were greeted by Armani (beautiful standard poole) and a couple of other guest who were on their way out. Shortly afterwards we were meet by a hostess who checked us into the Shelby room. We quickly took our bags to our room and left for some sightseeing and lunch. Everyone we encountered in and around Natchitoches was friendly and welcomed us to their area; they all acted like we were family members. Upon arriving back at the house for the evening, we found fresh baked cookies by the bed and slept soundly. We meet Christina the next morning at breakfast and had an amazing breakfast and meet the other guest with whom there was an immediate connection. After breakfast, Christina and Armani gave us a tour of the beautiful house along with insight/behind the scenes filming of the movie. After another day of sightseeing and enjoying the Festival of Lights we ended the day enjoying the fresh baked cookies left in our room. After another delicious breakfast we reluctantly checked out and headed for home. All this to say that Christina, Richard, their daughter and son-in-law as well as 2 other employees made our stay magical! We were so welcomed into the home that it truly felt as if we were staying with family instead of total strangers! Even the other guest felt like family members. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. What can I say about Armani except that he is an elegant, well-mannered dog who nevers meets a stranger. All in all, this trip was a huge success and we hope to visit there again soon. David and Nancy Jordan, Byram, MS

5 former collegiate football players and 3 boys' boys had the best weekend! Not your typical B&B group, we were treated like royality. The food was fantastic! The French Toast! The apple pastry dish with homemade vanilla was awesome! Thank you all for a most memorable weekend!

This is a true bed and breakfast in an elegant house. With Christina as hostess we would have enjoyed our stay even without the Steel Magnolias movie history. Our breakfast was delicious, elegant and very Louisiana. The cookies on the bedside table were a surprise and delicious. We chose the Jackson Room and were very comfortable. We slept like babies in that 4 poster king-size bed. We had rented the Streel Magnolia movie before our trip so we could review all the background scenes. Then the tour of the house and the story of Steel Magnolias was fascinating, I hope we did not drive Christina crazy taking photos outside the house. While in Natchitouches, I saw and experienced hospitality and enthusiasm from, not just Christina, but everyone we talked with in the stores, historic sites and even the bank. We have never visited a town that worked so cheerfully to make their visitors happy. We plan to return to the town and to the Steel Magnolia Bed and Breakfast.

This is a beautiful home (love the stained glass window in the kitchen) and the owners made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were to die for! Christine is a fantastic cook and even shared her recipes with us, although I doubt mine will turn out as beautifully as hers did. She gave us a tour of her home and provided its history. She also told us some interesting information about the filming of Steel Magnolias. I loved every minute of our visit to Natchitoches, which was made more enjoyable by the tour arranged by Christine. Vicki, the tour guide, had a wealth of knowledge about the area. Would positively do it again.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our honeymoon. We rented the Shelby room and purchased one of the romance packages. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Our room was upgraded to the attic room which is rarely ever rented. Our room was amazing, very clean and private. Everyday we were treated to a gourmet breakfast and cookies at our bedside. Christina and her husband went above and beyond to take care of us. They were so generous to give us so many "extras" with our stay including a personal tour of the home. We even watched the NFC championship with them one night. Who dat? In our romance package, she arranged a couples massage, dinner for two at the Mariner, roses, chocolate strawberries and champagne in our room.
The house is located within a mile of downtown Natchitoches. My husband and I took advantage of the great location as we strolled the historic sites of Natchitoches. The prices for this B&B might be slightly higher than the competition, but you get so much value for your money here. We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The movie has been one of my favorites since I was a little girl. I loved being able to stay in the house and hear all about the how the movie scenes were made. The service was great and the breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back. I just found the scrapbook from our stay and remembered I forgot to leave a review, that is why the review is a little behind!

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every moment! The Carriage House was beautiful and well stocked. Christina was the best Hostess we could ever ask for! She truly made our stay memorable. Her attention to detail, the marvelous Gourmet Breakfast and making us feel like we were family was the best! We will be back!
