When one thinks of antebellum plantations, the Great River Road along the Mississippi River in Louisiana, usually comes to mind. Yet the small town of New Iberia on the banks of Bayou Teche boasts one of Louisiana's not to be missed homes. It is very well preserved and the local guide, an eighty-seven year old lady, was delightful. The home and the grounds are both lovely and interesting.
