“Iberia Parish Treasure”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

When one thinks of antebellum plantations, the Great River Road along the Mississippi River in Louisiana, usually comes to mind. Yet the small town of New Iberia on the banks of Bayou Teche boasts one of Louisiana's not to be missed homes. It is very well preserved and the local guide, an eighty-seven year old lady, was delightful. The home and the grounds are both lovely and interesting.

“Has always been a favorite”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

We were so lucky to have Adam Foreman as our local tour guide with Allonsa Lafayette give us the tour of this home. I had not been here in a decade and it's even better than I remembered it. Make this a must stop just to hear the story of the last owner, but the building, grounds and historical data of purchases as well as on the furniture make this a must see.

“Very interesting and worth the visit”
Reviewed 1 February 2014 via mobile

Very interesting and informative and enjoyable artifacts to look at while on the tour of each room in the house. Our guide was very interesting and we appreciated her taking our family back to the beginning of the tour and starting over for us because we had arrived late and missed the start of the tour. Worth the visit to New IBeria for this. Took about an hour to do the whole thing and see the grounds and family cemetery on the property.

“Bygone Era”

A sampling of the old south. The home is beautiful and takes you back to a more genteel time. Really enjoyed walking on the grounds and seeing how they lived and died in that time.

“Neat Historical Site”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

Good parking; greeted at gift shop. Short wait for tour to start. Tour guide was informed and helpful. No pics inside? Unfortunate for those of us with cameras. House, furnishings and history was better than most we have seen. After guided tour, you can walk around grounds and take pics outside. Discerning youth and adults will appreciate this walk through old times.
If my information is helpful, please check it so. Thanks
