My husband and I took this tour and really enjoyed it. The guide was very informative and the grounds are beautiful.

We all enjoyed this tour very much! We meaning my husband, two 15 year olds, and 6 year old. The stair case entrance on the side was interesting and the history was great. My 6 year old still talks about this plantation home. The grounds were gorgeous and we'll maintained.

The home is beautiful and is very accurate. Many of the items, while not original, were made to look like it did when Ms. Mary Moore owned it. Our tour guide was very friendly.

Very beautiful and well worth the time. The grounds were so gorgeous. I would have loved to have a picnic, or at least a glass of wine or cup of tea on the lawn. We took our two pre-teen grandsons and even they thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Had to pull them away from the bayou! All they needed was a pole and some worms to make a complete day of it! We plan to return with our teen granddaughters, and probably one more time just for us. I must admit the stairs were a little hard to navigate if you have balance/walking problems. But the view from upstairs is well worth the difficulty.
Don't forget to visit Konriko Rice Mill and tour the mill. Hopefully it will be running when you visit. A great learning opportunity for kids of all ages.

If you're in New Iberia this seems to be a highlight, but in truth it's only moderately interesting compared to other plantation home tours like Houmas House or Laura on the River Road. The house and grounds are a bit run down -- the guide complained about a lack of funds from the Preservation Society -- but they are fairly evocative. The guide of our nice small group of 5 seemed like a mule who just wanted to get back to the barn at the end of the day. Information given out quickly and cursorily. Worth a stop, but only just.
