Good parking; plan to do some walking. Neat old style mansion and property. A few antiques and nice views. Gift shop usual stuff. The lake has a unique story.

We really enjoyed our trip to Rip Van Winkle Gardens. The house and stories about the families who lived there were very interesting. Beautiful flowers, trees, and plants and there were several peacocks on the grounds. What happened in 1980 to Lake Pegneur was fascinating. Don't miss Rip Van Winkle Gardens.

Very, very interesting place with a first class guided tour of the house. If you go also plan on having lunch. It was delicious.

It was my friends birthday and I planned drive over from New Orleans. I went online researching places to visit and this by far was the most amazing. The Gardens were beautiful. It rained most of the day but still didn't spoil things. The rain made the trip even more on the romantic side. We explored the grounds and even came across the beautiful peacocks that walk and live on the grounds. It's also a bed and breakfast which looking at the pictures are amazing. There's a cafe there which we didn't eat but was told it's the best. We will definitely return to stay there.

We had a great time on the grounds today and picked up an Earthcache Geocache as well as a lot of photos. The gardens on site are over the top!
