“Not fancy but great boiled crabs in New Iberia”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013

This place is a "hole-in-the-wall" -- let me clarify. It is a very casual place, where you can wear shorts and flip-flops, perfect for eating boiled crabs and crawfish. But also good poor-boys. The food is consistently good -- and well seasoned (Cajun style). Service is good. You can always count on a good meal.

“GREAT FOOD! Nice Portions. Good Service. Good Prices.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2013

If you like seafood, and if you're in New Iberville, LA, you MUST go to the Seafood Connection. What a great restaurant. Prices were amazing considering the size and taste of the food. Jo and Charles of the Estorge-Norton House Bed and Breakfast clued us in on this restaurant. Thanks!

“Excellent Cajun Cuisine in Non-Touristy Locale”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2013

I've been going to Seafood Connection for years, and I often send out-of-towners there if they are looking for real Cajun cuisine in a non-touristy locale. The place is admittedly a hole-in-the-wall, but to some people (including me) this is a positive, not a negative. It's an ugly little cinder block building; the bathrooms are located around the side of the structure, as you might find at a gas station. But don't worry about all that -- the food is top-notch Cajun fare. The place specializes in boiled seafood (crabs, shrimp, crawfish in season), but I myself enjoy its stuff shrimp dinner. And don't forget to order the shrimp balls as an appetizer! It's also a good place for take outs.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2013

This review is for the Seafood Connection II, the smaller place on Center Street. We were hungry for boiled seafood but since it was so early in the day we settled for crawfish etouffet. First of all, this is a "walk up to the counter and order food, sit down, they bring it to you" kind of place. We knew that from the beginning. Second, the place could used a good scrubbing, it isn't the cleanest place in town. Third, the food came in styrofoam containers and was as blah as the styrofoam. Never again. The service was not friendly.

“Pigged Out!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2013

Walking into this location of the Seafood Connection you feel like you're about to dine in somebody's garage. It was recommended by the counter lady at our hotel, she said that some of the higher end places were trading on their reputations, but at this place, they rarely missed on the food. I really liked it -- loved the seafood gumbo, and the fact that the oysters were put in near the end so they wouldn't overcook. The previously reviewer who said it was "horrible" probably knows a lot more about gumbo than I do, but I can't believe he got the same thing. My half oyster poboy was perfect -- good oysters, plus really fresh bread not too thick.

We all loved the staff. Waitress Amanda was really hustling and attentive, the owner shook everybody's hand and thanked us for coming, and the crawfish boil guys outside took us right in and showed us what they were doing. We're Yankees, and don't see crawfish boiling too often.
