A taste of Bavaria in the middle of the bayous is quite a treat for the locals and visitors! I love their strudels and pastries. The quality of fruit and creams are rich in flavor and refreshing. The breakfast hits the spot with the fresh cut fruit. Whichever you select, it'll be something different from the local Cajun cooking!
The service is always for friendly and intimate- like they've known you forever! Very accommodating! It is kinda pricey, but it's well worth it because of the quality of ingredients and how they make it with love :)

We went for breakfast - my husband had the Hopple Popple (german omelet) and the Pastry Plate. He loved the pastries and enjoyed his omelet. I had an omelet and it was very good. I went there planning to order the baked eggs but they take 20 minutes and I was starving and not willing to wait. Their quiches also sound delicious but also take 20 minutes. The lady next to us had the Reuben, which their menu claims is the best rueben in Louisiana. She agreed. My husband will definitely get the reuben next time. This place is so quaint and off the beaten path and only open Fri-Sun but it is a must try if you are in the area. We brought a box of pastries to our neighbors and were told they were all great. Breakfast is served all day. They close at 5pm.

Taste of Bavaria is a charming stop with excellent choices especially for breakfast. Although the dishes are a little pricey, they are presented attractively and taste great. It would be helpful to have the fruit peeled especially the kiwi. Still, an enjoyable place to dine.

Taste of Bavaria has become an annual December stop for us. When the air is crisp and we're feeling in that Christmas spirit, we head there for a wonderful breakfast. The outside looks like a you've just stopped at a Swiss Chalet', and their breakfast is cooked to order, so be patient. The bakery is sweet! Hope you enjoy as much as we do.

The hours of operation are a bit sporadic, We've eaten there several times and enjoyed every visit. It is also possible to purchase german varieties of meats. It's all good.
