Not knowing how far we'd make it during the first day of our drive back from Florida to Texas, we made reservations for this hotel about 2 hours out. They had a room for our family of four and we thought we were good to go, having asked for a suite with two queen beds. When we got there, they had assigned us a standard 2-queen room, so we asked again for the suite. They gave us the keys and we went directly to dinner before seeing the room due to it being late--our mistake. When we came back from dinner and unloaded all our bags it turned out the room was a king suite with no other bed. By this time all other rooms had sold out. The front desk clerk, though scattered (and apparently all alone at night...), did go find us a rollaway bed that we used for the night and three of us slept in the king. The facility itself is very new, so it was a nice place, and the breakfast was decent, but the clientele and location is definitely not the best part of the Baton Rouge area. We knew that going in. Overall, okay, but could have been better.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor on the front of the hotel facing I-10. If we'd been wanting to slee...

We decided to use our priority club rewards to stay here on a recent trip in Louisiana. It was at the recomendation of the Priority Club reservation desk that we stay here and it was an excelent choice. The room was Comfortable and huge by comparrison to some of the Fairfields that we've stayed in lately. Breakfast was filling and full of choices and spotlessly clean. The staff was courteous and helpfull. The only thingthat wasn't perfect was the water flow in the shower from the new water saver shower heads. A little improvement here will make this hotel ouotstanding in my book. If we are ever in the area we will make this choice again even with the skimpy shower.

Room Tip: King Suite!

Recently, my fiancé and I had to make a last minute trip to New Orleans, but we both work, and a 4 1/2 hour drive after an 8 hour day was out of the question. We decided on this particular hotel in Port Allen because of it's convenient location immediately outside Baton Rouge (having been a resident of the Baton Rouge area at one time, I decided to not stay in the city ever again if at all possible). Service in the Holiday Inn Express was quick and constant, parking was convenient, the staff was friendly but did not linger (which is really lovely when checking in around 9 pm), the room was spacious and incredibly clean, and the complimentary breakfast had nice variety, and was hot (again, this is a blessing for those who travel often and are met with lumpy cold oatmeal and terrible coffee). I rather enjoyed my night over in Port Allen, and do plan to stop, when travelling in the future, at this well managed/well priced hotel-- I have also suggested, and will continue to suggest people use the cozy spot when they need a place for the night.

Our room was well-appointed and comfortable. Everything we had hoped for, and nothing missing. That counted after a long drive from the Mexican border. Only one negative comment: the egg omelette at breakfast was tough and uninteresting.

Your hotel is simply fab. Our room smelled fresh & clean and the bathroom SPARKLED. The desk clerk who checked us in was very nice [I don't remember her name :(] And I love that she offered us bottled water & reminded us to grab some cookies on our way up to the room :) I gotta give you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5stars =}

Arrived last night about 7 pm after driving 10 hours. Checked in to our room, #215, noticed it was a handicap room, not a problem, I was tired. Opened the door to find piles of dirty towels unmade bed, etc. went back down and was reassigned #219. We moved our luggage in, sat down realized tv would not work, called front desk and was told that yes they had problems with the electricity in that's room. We packed back up and moved to #321, unpacked again. Thermostat would not work. Just went to bed. This morning, there is still no heat, no cups with the coffee pot, no bath mat. All this for only $140.

Checked in my room and it had someone's dirty underwear and shirt in the bathroom. The ironing board in the doorway. Someone left a dirty sock under the table and a nasty piece of tissue on the nightstand. I call to the front desk for another room and she said she didnt have any rooms but i could talk to the manager in the morning. I will never ever stay in this hotel again. If your in this area keep going because they dont have good customer service.
