My wife and I made a "Dave Robicheaux" tour of Cajun country, and the highlight of our visit was our visit to La Maison in St. Martinville. We more or less stumbled upon the place and we gave it a look. We were immediately approached by the owner / host / maitre de who helped us to select our meals, all the while entertaining us with amusing chatter. When we mentioned that we are Dave Robicheaux aficianados, he led us next door into the Alligator Bar (named for the alligator skin covering on the bar?), where the confrontation between Dave Robicheaux (Tommy Lee Jones) and Julie Balboni (John Goodman) was filmed in the movie version of "In the Electric Mist With the Confederate Dead". Seated next to us was a local guy who was one of the extras during the bar scene. Our host asked the bartender to serve a Sazerac on the house. What a nice guy, what a wonderful evening we won't forget.

Katie is one of the most creative bartenders we've ever met, you wouldn't expect to find that in St. Martinville. The Alligator Bar is one of my favorite places ever to have a drink. Saturday night we tried a bunch of new things which Bob always seems to have coming in. We tasted a Brazilian Cachacha, Bayou Rum from Lacassine, and even a strawberry flavored moonshine..... Keep up the good work guys !!!!!

You feel like you're in an upscale bar in New Orleans, not in lil ole St Martinville. The food is very good, and you have to have a drink with Bob at the Alligator Bar from their eclectic and unique drink menu..........I highly recommend this place !!

My husband eat here all the time! He loves the seafood vodka pasta and I love the steaks!
Everything is homemade o you won't eat something that tastes like it came from a food distributor!
The bar is so cool! It is made of alligator skin! They have live music on the weekend so we stay and listen to the band after we finish dinner!
They also have a balcony so you cn bring your drinks up there and gaze at the amazing view.
We will be back!!!
